I had really lost much of my interest in anything Mario after burning out on the "New" Super Mario games, but after Giant Bomb recommended 3D Land, I gave it a go, and it's terrific! The bite-size levels make it easy to pick up for a short session, and keeps things varied, and the 3D adds some nice touches in places (though I didn't get the «HOLY FUCKING SHIT» feeling some people talked about.) The purple anti-mario that follows you on some of the special levels I could do without, but the small level sizes makes even annoying stuff okay, since you know you won't have to struggle with them for that long. I've consistently gotten 3 coins on each level as I play, which I expected would become frustrating, but again, the small level sizes makes restarting and playing them multiple times not that big of a hassle.

I've already completed the game once, and never knew this. This is an outrage!

Yeah, video related apps are the one obvious exception to what I said – obviously you'd much rather watch video on your TV rather than on your tablet or phone. I wish they'd gone more in that specific direction, rather than making a this whole generic "app" framework thing, but I guess there are too many marketing people involved («we gotta have apps!») and anyway, with little or no standard for a "video service," it would be hard to take any other route.

COLOSSUS 2: DESTROYED. I had forgotten how great traversing these things are, with the stumbling and jumping and grabbing on to shit. I stopped by two save ruins on my way there, and one of them had a white-tail. I spent more time trying to hit that with a weapon than I did killing the colossus, as it kept running around on the ruin, escaping my bow-aim and sword-reach. Fucking lizards.

I've yet to see a "smart" TV that isn't just a slow, unusable mess of bullshit "apps" that in no way compete with what more and more people have on their tablet right in their laps.

My my biggest regret is not having been born in Japan, so that I could play Gyakuten Kenji 2, and I have hired two hitmen, separately, to identify and liquidate every person responsible for that game not getting an English translation and then kill the other hitman.

Finished this (iOS) the other day, and man oh man whatta fantastic game! It has everything – ghost tricks, submarines, ridiculously convoluted puzzles, fantastic characters and environments and an unexpected ending. I don't where I heard about this game, but I'm super happy I did – the singing chef will stay with me forever/until my death.

What? I thought hospital beds were sweet ... they're so expensive – how can they not be ultra-comfortable?
