If they get Mirror's Edge 2 as a platform exclusive, every man, woman and child in the hardcore gamer ward will vote for Xbox One this Christmas.

This is a pretty good interview. Apparently they realize that Europeans are skeptical of their TV/sports stuff, and are planning to offer similar contents/services over here. Whatever that means, I'm not sure – and never watching TV, I don't care – but they have thought about it, at least.

This here site has a ton of short murder mysteries. Each one has you read a short text, then identify who you think dunnit. Additionally, you can select incriminating/exonerating sentences as you go. After submitting your suspicion, you get some stats comparing you to the others, plus the conclusion (and solution) to the story. If this sounds totally fucking radical, here's the link to it: http://www.5minutemystery.com/

Ultimately we're just reacting to the marketing, though. In a couple of weeks and months, we'll know more actual information and real facts. That they chose to target the mainstream and focus on sportsball and TV doesn't mean they haven't paid attention to the gamerz aspect. For all we know, they may have tons of sweet gaming features they've chosen to sit on until E3, the gaming convention. Also, force-feedback triggers.

(I've used Photo Shop, which is the same tool as used in CSI)

One of the advantages of consoles have been that there has been very little between the game and the hardware, so the performance has been better than on a Windows PC with the same specs, plus the increase in performance/awesomeness over the years as developers figure it out. I wonder how all the services and background processes will affect that this time, and how much of the hardware is available for games at the most. edit: Oh, and I'm intrigued by all the new IP they mentioned. Too bad they didn't show more, but marketing I guess.

EVERYONE INTO THE STEAM CHAT, and watch the stream here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hub/reveal

«Bob, you literally have five minutes to create a PS4 trailer and get it up on Youtube.»

Yeah, I've triangulated the time, and it's 19.

So everyone's meeting up on Steam chat to crack wise about Microsoft's Xbox presentation tomorrow, right? Does anyone know: How to convert 1PM ET / 10AM PT into Norwegian fjord time? What the best way to watch the stream will be? Have they announced something official, like Sony's Ustream thing?

That's how Sean hires people.

Isn't that just being a person?

Anyone excited for this? At first I was like another japanese RPG whatever man, but then I heard that Studio Ghibli was involved, and I looked at the Quicklook over at Giant Bomb, and the game looks absolutely gorgeus. I think it has been out for a while on the DS, but is now coming to the PS3? Has anyone played it? How is it?

Damn it, but computers have become really complicated
toblix replied to Erkki's topic in Idle Banter
It's not uncommon to be able to surf the web from your BIOS on modern motherboards. All the manufacturers are currently in a race to see who can make the worst, most cluttered BIOS interface possible. I've always wondered, so I did a bit of research, and there are actually laws prohibiting computer component manufacturers from hiring people with graphics design/user experience experience. -
Did you know: «Hannibal» has Anthony Hopkins, Giancarlo Giannini and a great soundtrack.

His hand?

My impression is they haven't thought about that at all, and will be taken by surprise when their servers begin to deform and change color.

Oh yeah, I know it's a real business, and they're terrible and on Yelp or whatever. It's just that the main goal of the producers is to make you feel these people are completely crazy, and there is pretty much nothing preventing them from just making stuff up or cutting together or staging ridiculous events. When the experience of these episodes are the sum of so many «did that just happen?!» moments it's easy to forget or start ignoring that all/most/some/none of them may never actually have happened.

I looove «ham burgers» and not saying good-bye on the phone.

Just keep in mind that this is reality television, so there is absolutely no guarantee that anything was not completely scripted and performed by actors. Also, if it's real, those people need help, and not in the snarky way, but actual therapy.

Whoever recommended Duolingo: I pretty much know French now. NOUS AVONTS UNE CHAT ROUGE

So, «They Live» was pretty cool. That is to say, it has some really great parts, like the weird, slow opening third and the terrible «uh-oh» garbage truck scene followed by the incredible«put on the glasses!» fight scene. I watched «Escape from New York» before this, and thought it was okay. The part that stuck with me the most was the «Everyone's coming to New York» musical song, and Lee van Cleef's awesome face.
