  1. Among the Sleep

Sure. Making a new thread is not a super-big deal, and if a game is interesting enough to get a couple of posts in some «Talk about every little thing you've done today» thread, it could probably do with a separate thread. This, together with searching for existing threads before creating a new thread about a game, would make everything better.
  2. Among the Sleep

No, don't make more compilation threads! If this game is interesting, we can discuss it here. If not, it'll sink down into the archive. Compilation threads are the worst.
  3. What to do in/near San Francisco?

You should visit that winding road that's named after a PI or something. And ride the tram! And go to that beautiful old movie theater if it's done. And is SF sushi particularly great?
  4. Metro: Last Light

One annoyance: whenever I come across a new weapon, I feel like I don't have the information I need to make the right choice; do I replace my current shotgun with this? Maybe Artyom doesn't know a lot about guns, and it does sort of goes well with the desperate tone of the rest of the game («hey, I'll just grab this,») but I still feel I should get something more than a little schematic picture. Also, that sequence where I'm waiting for the boat coming across required a few too many retries. Maybe I had the wrong guns!!!

  6. E3 2013 Idle Thumbs Steam Chat

Oh shit, I missed it too. Maybe we were lucky and everyone missed it.
  7. Metro: Last Light

Finally started this. I can't remember playing an FPS where all the everyone's flashlights cast real-time shadows. It makes the combat much more interesting, being able to track your enemies by seeing their rays of light being cast through openings and stairwells.
  8. Myst-a-likes?

I would say it isn't Myst-like at all, but I guess that just goes to show how many wonderful aspects these games have, that we can appreciate them in so many different ways! Okay, I get that the weird puzzle thing is Myst-like, sort of, but I find the fantastical environments and high level of immersion essential parts of the Myst experience. I also liked The Room and The Incredible Machine!
  9. The great Valve re-play

Aaand my Hydra is in my hand(s.) So, what do I use this thing for? What are the sweet games I can play with the Rift and the Hydra? HL2?
  10. Life

    Yay teach!
  11. Myst-a-likes?

I loved all the Myst games, though Riven and Myst 3 are my clear favorites. I can't remember playing any Myst clones that came anywhere close. The Journeyman games were cool, but I think those have probably aged worse.
  12. Omni

Remember the ridiculous VR stand you discussed as a kid with your nerd friends? Well here it is. It was fully backed in almost an instant, it seems like, and the idea is ridiculous and crazy, and they have the Words With Friends guy there to rave about it. I don't know. What a crazy thing that does has a slight chance of becoming something completely awesome.
  13. The great Valve re-play

Aaand my Amazon order has been dispatched ... they're still out of stock, so either I'm very lucky or I'm not.
  14. Crosswords

Yeah, they asked med to reinstall. DAY 4 Another person admitted to having the same problem on the issue board thing! This means it's not just me! I wonder what's causing it. How can an iOS game have a bug that manifests immediately after a fresh install for only a few users when the variables on the devices are so few? Since it's a calendar GUI thing I immediately tried setting my iPad to American Texas hamburger mode, but that didn't change anything. So what's left that can make this weird error appear? The wallpaper?
  15. I Had A Random Thought...

    You had me at underwear.
  16. The great Valve re-play

The store I ordered it from sent me a Short Message Service text message saying «oh shit it said we had that? Sorry bro!» and then canceled my order. Then I ordered one from Amazon.co.uk which didn't have any in stock, but maybe they'll get some later? I don't know. I also registered my interest on Razer's site. I can't really run around on an Omni, wearing the Oculus Rift and not have the Razer Hydra – I'd look like a complete idiot!
  17. The great Valve re-play

    Thanks, but they're sold out.
  18. The great Valve re-play

You just sold me on the Hydra, and then I found out nobody sells it. I found one shop that says they had one in stock, so we'll see.
  19. Crosswords

DAY 3 So I contact support and say a bunch of thing, but anticipating them just telling me to reinstall, I lead by saying that I tried that and it didn't work. Guess what they responded with?
  20. Things in games that terrify you irrationally

That was the best emergent horror I've ever experienced.
  21. I Had A Random Thought...

Nobody would put those outside their church!
  22. I Had A Random Thought...

Hey, cut them some slack. If you have to come up with a new cool Christian saying every day, there are bound to be some duds. I challenge you: think of two better sentences right now. See?
  23. Plug your shit

Actually, I think there was right after the forum upgrade, but then they turned it off. Either that, or there wasn't ever anything like that.
  24. Things in games that terrify you irrationally

I had this thing with playing against bots, where I would totally freak out if I found out I was playing, say Half-Life 2, against a bot rather than a human. It seems weird now, and I don't think I'd react at all today, but I remember being stuck by this crippling fear og being hunted, similar to what I experienced when I tried Amnesia very briefly.
  25. Save the Date

    You guys got this, right?
