Assuming the fight for survival is not meant in a literal sense, what's so wrong about this? Nobody would complain if someone made a movie about these things. I'm talking about the concept, of course, of games based on real events like these, and not this particular game, which will probably suck. Is a WW2 game any more tasteful than a titanic game? I agree that it's easy to do this sort of thing in a tasteless manner, but I wouldn't discount the idea right away. ...or would I?

** Spoiler ** EasyeasyeasyeasyeasyeasyeasyeasyeasyeasyIMPOSSIBLE! I was looking forward to this game so much, and I loved everything about it up to the end and now it looks like I'll never even finish it. That's some sweet game design decisions right there at the end. Freaking Meat Circus...
-
I did it, and loved it. But riddle me this: Am I the only one who thinks that most end-games suck? I always enjoy the early and mid-game portions of games, but towards the end they become hectic and chaotic and too full of bosses and stuff. I guess it's just me.

This sucks. First, Stronghold 2 lures me in with its early Settlers-esque high-detail resource-management gameplay, only to suck with its messed up difficulty curve and combat focus, and then this. It's weird, though, because Scrapland is absolutely gorgeus, but I got the feeling early on that there really wouldn't be much to do. What now, then?

All right!

I've only played it for about a half hour, but it feels a bit like being thrown into a hole filled with ideas.

So, I finally bought Moment of Silence, the game everybody's talking about, and I haven't gotten far(the airport), but I have some questions, and since you're all experienced adventure players, I guess at least one of you'd be able to answer them: 1. Why does the voice acting suck so much? 2. Is the game this boring all the way through, or does it get slightly exciting as the game progresses? Are all the puzzles as idiotic? I mean, I've been told that the plane leaves terminal B, but I can't ask the ticket woman about it. WHY? 3. Why in the Hell did this game get so great reviews?
-
Okay, so in order to get the guy up there, you can't ring the bell, because if you do, you either block the spear so the guy's killed, or blow up the entire thing, or waste the keycard so the guy can't escape. And even if you get they guy up, and he moves the tower, what's the point? And what in the Hell am I supposed to do about that landmine?!
-
Yes? What do I do about the landmine, and how do I open the door. The guy down there only smashes the bulb or waves. Or is blown up. What's with the shaky thing by the door and the see-saw?

OMFG are those actual screenshots??!?!?!
-
I know, I know. Sorry. But, that reminded me of something a game I'd make would not have, and that is written logs or diarieswhere it says stuff like "Oh no, there's something outside my room! It's broken in through the door! It's horrible, oh my God. It's coming closer and is about to eat me! Agh, it's eating me as I write this. AHAHAEEOOEHEEGGGGGHH! I'm now dead. Sincerely, Clarence." Those are so lame. I mean, who writes stuff in their diary right as they're about to die? An audio log, okay, but a written one? NO WAY.

Whoa, whoa! Time out! "She"?! A female astronomer? Oh, I thought you said astronaut. I have no problems with female astronomers. But I have all sorts of wild and crazy game ideas myself, but they're all just simple physics or AI driven game/sims/toys, and I never get around to making stuff like that. Aahh, to be young and full of ideas. I so want to become old, resigned and bitter.

Just the fact that there are a shizzillion of different distros is a big turnoff for me. I mean, what's so special that there has to be all these different versions? Why can't there be just one, like in the Matrix?
-
I hear it sucks.
-
Only it's not better than Myst, but that's a discussion for another day.
-
I've watched two other people play the game now, and they play it all wrong. They miss all the cool scripted sequences because they're looking the wrong way, and they never look at people who're talking, and don't use the environmental traps that are set up. AHH!

Why am I the only one who knows how to play Half-Life 2?!
toblix replied to toblix's topic in Video Gaming
This is incredible! It's like all the people here have some innate ability to play HL2 in the only proper way. What does this say about us as a group? That we're better than everybody else? It most certainly does! -
I did too. Until I played BreakQuest!!! This game is so great it's worth paying for. Click the text that this is!

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - latest screenshots
toblix replied to Intrepid Homoludens's topic in Video Gaming
The HL2 screenshots were great, but not unrealistically so, like this one: Let me tell you this: If AoE III ends up looking this good in real-time, I'll blow you all. -
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - latest screenshots

I've noticed that developers/publishers are sending out more and more ridiculous screenshots for upcoming games. They're so great that it's 100% authentically certain that the game will never look that way. The recently released Age of Empires III shots are also like that too, as well. It sickens me. -

Well, you seem to like jazz, so maybe it's not for you.

This game is amazing. It's probably the most polished indie game I've ever played. The music is great, the graphics, the physics, everything. It's really just like any other Breakout clone, only with sweet graphics and even sweeter physics, and all the levels (all hundred) are really varied, with their own graphics and sounds and stuff. And if I were an adbot, would I say this? Penis!
