Yeah, but not real trumpets. Trumpet samples, right? Like this?
-
Is it the "orchestrated" versions that's really just a MIDI version?
-
No, but that seems to be the point. Does it even really exist? And maybe it is we who are the game.

Jesus Lord of Mercy, that looks incredibly awesome! Is it even a game? Is it...uh, I want to know more about this! Idle Staff, to the interview vehicle!

You've changed, man. It used to be about the music!
-
Yeah. Didn't finish it, but I got pretty far. Wait a minute, "screen door"?

I had this whole diatribe going in my head about the leaf modelling comment, and then I came down here and you were already done with it. Great.

So, does Gears of War have amazing breasts?

Just got that Something! Something! Ouendan! game today, and I'm loving it (even though I hate that I have to wait so long every time I restart a song...). So, my question is: Is this some common Japanese game genre that everyone knows of but me, or is this the new shit, the fancy new trend that will spawn millions of thousands of copies because it's fun fun fun? Follow up question (if I may): Are there other games like this (rhythm based) that I can purchase for the dollar and shove up my DS Lite's tight little slot and pound and stroke rhythmically away for maximum pleasure? What about that game that I think was for the GBA and for which the trailer which for I saw, but which for I forgot the name for, there were some guys on a conveyor belt with anothe guy shouting at them, and there was a guy hitting stuff with a bat. Anyone know? I need some more rhythm fun NOW!

Phil Harrison busts out the doublespeak (again)

The repetition of (small) textures aren't due to media storage limitations, but rather limitations in the graphics hardware and software. -
Congratulations! I got to see one of my wisdom teeth today, lying broken in two with bloody slinters of mouth meat attached, but I guess it's just not the same.

"Whazzup, yo! This is DJ Stryker here on Crash FM!" Ah, the memory.

About Bioshock (sorry, BioShock!), it seems to me they did some marketing switchy thing a while back where they went from describing it as the sort of game SS2 is, which I guess is sort of a first person RPG or whatever, to calling it a FPS. Also, it seems they're focusing more on the actiony elements than the RPG elements when talking about the game. Hopefully it's just a smart marketing move to get more people to buy it rather than descriptive of some sudden change of design direction.

What's wrong with Hitler?

Well, do you? You say you do, what if you think about it, what have you shown us besides pictures and empty words?

But then you wouldn't be able to use all the online shit. There's online shit, right?

Fucking region-locking piece of shit. The region-freeness of my DS was a big part of what made it so cool, that I could get my games from wherever. Now Nintendo's gone all Sony-ish with their suits and rules and shit. The shitness is even rubbing off on my DS now! Anyone know what the regions will be? If it's like the DVD regions at least I'll be able to get the same stuff as the rest of Europe, which is all right. If it's by country, though... Jesus.

Fallout is fucking fantastic, but I suspect you'd have to have played it shortly after release to think so. After all these years, I reckon the technology has aged soo much it'd get in the way. Anyway, it's probably my favourite RPG ever. The mood, the dialogue system, the combat system (turn based combat rocks), the violence and gore. The character development system; no other game gives you and orgasm each time you level up. The sequel was great; better in some areas, worse in some. The UI was better, but there were more points where there were just too many pop-cultural references. Oh, and about the time limit. I didn't even know there was a limit the first time I played Fallout. And I take my time with these games, finishing every quest and so on. Also, isn't there a way of disabling that whole thing, a patch or something? And I love turn-based combat! Arcanum has some of the same feeling, being designed by roughly the same team, but I still prefer Fallout.

So I'm playing Lost in Blue on my DS, and I'm thinking, is there some special Japanese school of game design where the level of frustration and torment the player has to experience at a given time is ruled by some complex mathematical function that makes no sense? I mean, this game could be wonderful if it had that increasing feeling of control and that sweet, sweet reward of having repetitive tasks be automated for you as you progress, leaving you free to pursue more complex activites and concentrate on bigger problems, but instead the game is strangely hard at first as you struggle to find food, shelter and primitive tools, then it becomes easier as you learn the lay of the land and know where to find the stuff you need, and then it gets very much harder as you have to move further and further away from a home that exhibits minimal increase in autonomy as you progress. If complex crate shoving puzzles aren't hard enough, you have to keep track of all sorts of physical parameters both of yourself and another person as you solve them. Should I push this wooden crate to the left, or shall I drop everything and run towards home because my friend is dying of thirst? Oh, and I have to pick some berries on the way or she'll starve. And not the pink berries, or she'll be poisoned! Oh shit, my fire maker's broken, we'll die of the cold! It's ridiculous! You have to be one of those crazy Asians who can play the Super Mario theme on two guitars and a saxophone simultaneously to be able to finish this game.

Too... Fast... Can't... Stop... I'm at the mad clay shaping guy (I don't get the stories for shit. What, he sees people and make pots that look like them, and then the businessman smiles... does he want to purchase the pot? Who knows?!) at normal difficulty, and it's destroying my soul. I made it once to the last part (there are five parts, right?), and it's like here-here-now over here QUICK-hereherehere-WAIT-here-nowHERE!, and I'm like must...hate...game. BUT I CAN'T DO IT! And the story about the burglary-foiling race horse was fantastic. I think. OS!

I also enjoyed Stupid Invaders. Got the impression my name wasn't exactly Legion, though.
