So, having just ordered this because I need it like I'd need heroin, was I a heroin addict, which, thankfully, I'm not, I was wondering whether there are any other crazy Japanese DS games that are cool even if you don't know a word (or letter, even) Japanese, much like Ouendan! and Picross DS (which I just guess is playable even without understanding anything).

I just wanted to get on the record that, though I apparently loathe Ocarina of Time, BG&E is quite possibly my favourite game ever.
-
Well, the second time I got the sword and the shield and fought some flowers and ran around inside the tree, climbing vines and shooting spiders and jumping from platform to moving plaform and it was all incredibly boring. This 3D thing is just too different from what I like about the two Zelda games I've played through for me to like.

Which page of the Doom book should be read in the podcast?

Hey, I haven't voted on this! Let's see... -
He? How do you know I'm not a girl? Also, I feel like such a turd for not being able to play Ocarina. I've never been a graphics whore, but it's just that ugly 3d is so... fucking ugly. Old 2D games, at least those with a modicum of different colors and stuff can still look totally awesome, like most old adventure games. I still replay Fate of Atlantis and I'm in love with every single screen. Old 3D games? I shit on them. For example, just thinking about trying to replay Simon the Sorcerer 3D today... See, I just swallowed a load of my own vomit!

Nope, not going to happen. Ocarina just looks and feels too much like shit for me to play. Is the next Zelda game also on N64 or on the Gamecube?
-
What in the fuck is this? I thought everyone loved Zelda! Why haven't you people said anything before?
-
What, it is? But then... I...

Oh, man. That's pretty embarrassing. Thanks. Yeah, I'm using an Xbox 360 wired controller. It's not that the control setup is bad, it's just that everything feels less precise than in the 2d games. I dunno. I'm starting to think that the sucking graphics may have affected my opinions of all the other aspects of the game a bit too much. I'll give Ocarina another go tonight. After that crash, though, I'm a bit worried.

Well, no. Should I? To be honest, I didn't even get the shield. How the fuck do you get the shield? Yeah, yeah. You had me at gameplay. Yeah, unfortunately that's not an option. Tell you what, though. Since everyone thinks this game is so great, I'll give it another chance. I still think it bodes badly that I had to run around for half and hour before even finding the sword. Is it just my missing some directional hint, or what? I assumed I wasn't ready for the "training course", as it gave hints on sword fighting and I didn't yet have a sword. How was I supposed to know that this is the only game in the world that gives hints on how to fight before giving you the weapon? And where's the shield?

What? Is this some new thing? Anyone heard of it, with Wario having all sorts of disguises and stuff?
-
Cool. Too bad Game Boy sounds so gay.
-
Well, what did they give that slimy piece of shit Touch Detective?
-
Jesus... Christ... so... addicting... completed all the puzzles in one sitting... ass hurts... can't... stop!
-
Anyway, did you try using the unofficial patches that are being released even as we speak?
-
Troika's been dead for a while. I liked their games, though. In fact, I'm even in one of their games. I even contributed a feature suggestions that was implemented. Another fact: I got a Christmas card from Troika! (there, that's my entire connection to the business. Sorry, biz.)

God damnit, I almost looked! All that preamble, so enticing... Was that smilie(-y?) usage of well quality?
-
I just started playing this, but boy oh boy does it look good! I was sort of expecting it to look like shit after playing the first two Bones, but this is looking sweet! Also, by the eternal love of Jesus the Lord Christ of Nazareth, I can skip dialogue! This feature alone makes the purchase worth it! This is good, since I already paid for the entire episode.
-
I'm a bit into the second game now, and I have to say I'm loving all these special sequences, like the dream sequence and the sitcom one. This, combined with the excellent dialogue puzzles really does it for me. Not in a sexual way, of course. But close.

I've never had a hard drive crash on me, so with the years I have become sloppy with taking backups of my data. I can only imagine how it must feel, the cold, empty realisation of having lost everything - every song, every photograph, every master's thesis, every rare Japanese hardcore bukkake DVD-rip, every beautiful poem - sneaking, slithering slowly up your spine as you sit staring at your computer screen complaining about not finding a boot sectore where there has always been one. Just the thought of it makes me want to buy a large RAID NAS box and scheduling daily backups.

Happy secondary birthday!

That sounds totally awesome. I thought Wario was just about the mini-games.

Happy Birthday... if that is your real birthday.
