  1. The Secret Mystery Game

Yeah, I had already tried it a while back, and visually it also reminded me of Limbo too, as well. Maybe that was the game that inspired me to start this thread, I dunno. Anyway, when you said Lemmings, it hit me that, although N and Lemmings might be similar in many ways, while I found N to be uninspired and dull, I absolutely love Lemmings. Both have no story (to speak of), and rely on failing a number of times on each puzzle, iteratively developing a strategy for success. And again I think the reason for my fascination with Lemmings is that each new level is something special, not just built using tiles.

N (or M or whatever) is a really good example of what excites me about Limbo, or rather why I'm not excited at all by N. While there are hundreds of levels in N, they are just combinations of ten or so different tiles. The only interesting new experiences gained from progressing is getting a new challenge. It would be like if Portal didn't have the story elements. If there hadn't been the "hints" at the beginning that there was something more going on, and if all there was to it were just a lot of those puzzles. I'm sure most people would still think it was great, and I, too, would also think it was really cool at first, as well. But that shit gets boring quick. Unless there's something new on the horizon, I don't feel a need to go on. Limbo looks like everything's hand-made and that there's a story or something going on.
  3. In your Steam game list, just click on the 1 Gift line next to one of the games, and the rest is as easy as pie, provided whoever it is you're going to give your game to is a friend.
  4. Portal

This is crazy! I just completed it for the second time, with the commentaries, and during the ending song... I know it's supposed to be funny, but I was... moved or something. It was like I got something in my eye, I mean. There's something just right about this game, and I'm just so impressed with Valve. I already knew they were the best at shooters, but then they try this crazy new first perzon puzzler thingy, and it's fucking perfect! What is it with these people? In a way, I would think it impossible to "merge" these two game worlds, one being this bleak action thing and the other almost a comedy game, but by now I'm just thinking that whatever they decide to do they'll just go ahead and do it perfectly, so that the only ones who can do any better are themselves. Seriously, who makes better games than Valve? Nobody, that's who. Anyway, good night.
  5. Portal

Yeah, I was thinking of maybe a Portal 2 or something. Or Portal: Episode One. Or Portal: The Portaling. Really, anything with more Portal would rock.
  6. Portal

Holeru shitteru! I'm playing through it again with commentaries, and in one of the commentary thingies they said "something something, but in this first Portal game, something something". In this first Portal game? There's more? That's awesome!
  7. Double Fine

Didn't Timmy publicly ridicule the very notion of this game? Oh, the bastard. Anyway, I thought the game sounded awesome when I posted the forbidden blurb about it earlier. What was it about, supposedly, and what kind of game was it?
  8. Double Fine

    You're fucking kidding me.
  9. And let's not forget the porn pictures!
  10. Unless someone has sent me something on Steam, I have both HL2 and Ep1 available. For porn pictures. edit: I've given them away now, though.
  11. I think we can work something out.
  12. Great idea! I'll be giving away my licenses, too. For porn pictures.
  13. Why in the fuck didn't anyone say?!
  14. Uh, Phoenix Wright 3 is out for the DS...

Just finished it, and it was awesome. As in the previous two games, there were some contradictions that were too "complex" for me, so consulted the FAQ a couple of times, and some of them were too obvious, or too much hinted at, but most of them were just right. Now, after playing two games with no DS specific stories, I'm absolutely dying to get a hold of the next one. I guess it's a given it's coming out in English, but are they going to wait any more than necessary? I want Apollo Justice now! Also, judging by the names in the credits, I'm pretty sure the translation team that did PW also did Dead Rising.
  15. Japanese Games

    Okay, so it's just me.
  16. ...when they said this really was a shooter. Jesus, there are more bad guys in this game than in Doom 3!
  17. BioShock - They weren't kidding...

Have you even seen a lady?
  18. The Secret Mystery Game

Many awesome games are based wholly or in part on trial and error.
  19. The Secret Mystery Game

What?! But it looks amazing. I would, without hesitation, walk around and strangle everyone in family in their sleep if it meant I got to play that game.
  20. The Secret Mystery Game

Yeah, I agree that AW would be the best game to compare it to visually, but even in AW you can see how the movement of the character is connected to keyboard input, but this thing looked more like just a nicely animated concept demonstration to me. The transition from running to jumping, the handling of angled surfaces... I just can't believe it.
  21. The Secret Mystery Game

But it doesn't even look like a game! It's too well animated and... non-gamey to be a game.
  22. XBox Live

I didn't find the network set-up procedure to be a problem at all. Even though it's not basically Windows, how would that make setting up the network any more difficult?
  23. Gaming semantics

I always thought the 'B' in 'B-movie' stood for 'budget'.
  24. XBox Live

    Are you using DHCP?
  25. Experience112

In Memoriam was pretty cool. I never finished it, for some reason, but the whole reality thing was pretty awesome.
