What the fuck? That was my 99th! I've played 20 sessions now just looking for that last one. Are there any stupidly hidden orbs? I've gotten some that were placed on hard-to-reach ledges and stuff, but I've started thinking you have to find an inivible "door" in the barrier or something. Guess I'll have to drive around the valley some more.

Working under the assumption that Flashbang can only work on one thing at a time, I'd rather they perfected Raptor Safari before they moved on.
-
Probably. This 99th one was the one hanging over one of the fucking lame ramps, at the end of a long cliff road. Every time you miss you have to drive a long way back to try again. But now it's mine! I have a sneaking suspicion the last one is hiding in between some of the rocks that are everywhere. My greatest complaint in this game is that all the different ramps and jumps , seemingly made for awesome stunts, suck my dick. If you don't hit them just right, you just stop, and even if you do, you still slow down so much the stunt becomes horrible. The designers should play a couple of rounds of Carmageddon 2, the best stunt racing game ever to have graced computer storage to this day. That should give them some tips about how to not build ramps with fucking speed-bumps around them.

Since I was such a good boy and wrote a proper post title, the message body is fucking useless.

I finally got you, you high-hanging piece of shit!

I WILL DESTROY EVERYONE

Aha, the flying ones. I thought they were just for the pretty.
-
Killed a what? Also, where are the last three fucking orbs?
-
I mean yes.
-
No, that was a "there's a boost?!" WTF.
-
What. The. Fuck.

I liked San Andreas most of all, and I don't think I spent much time listening to Gangsta Rap. Wasn't there only one station with really hardcore rap music anyway? I think the SA soundtrack is awesome. Mississippi Woman, Mississippi Man, for example -- classic.

Okay, what in the fuck do I have to do to reach these unfucking reachable final orbs? Is there a fucking jump button?!
-
I love the 3D GTAs, but I never finish them. Usually, towards the end of the game some impossibly frustratingly hard mission comes out of nowhere and I just give up. I spend fucking days playing it, though. The maps and physics would be enough for me to spend a good while playing, and with cool story and side quests, awesome cut-scenes and also an awesome soundtrack, it's like an explosion of awesomeness every, what, three or four years?

Cunt shit fuck!

Wait, are there game states spanning more than one play session?
-
I just realised how stupid this option is.

Just started playing it, and after about fifteen minutes I had to stop. It's been like that with the HL games ever since the first ones. Because I think they're so great, and the experience is so intense (even without combat), after a short while I feel I have to stop so I don't play through it all at once. I want to savour it, and that's not something I want to do with all games. Anyways, I hope everyone who's now gotten HL2 and Ep1 for the first time make sure to play them, complete them and do it right. That means no running and gunning. All the locations are so wonderful... the sounds, the debris, the physics... just take your time. You've got a fucking ton of Best Game Ever ahead of you.

I thought it was well liked by all!

Fantastic! edit: Now that I've read it, I've become more certain I'll have to get myself a PS3 at one point. When I first saw shots and previews of this game, I thought "hey, this looks awesome". Then I seem to remember getting more and more an impression of this being a mediocre, repetitive 3rd person shooter or something, and lost interest. Then... then... the last weeks I've been reading about how great the storytelling of this game is. How great the animation, story, acting and the little details that were mentioned here are. This is starting to sound like my kind of game.

Yeah, now that you mention it, maybe it felt a bit smoother than I'd expect from a typical console shooter, which, to me, means Halo. Especially the whole tunnel-vision running feeling was kind of neat and smooth-feeling. I just felt that the combat was, I dunno, unexciting. These guys appear out of holes, and I cover them with my huge reticule, firing until they're dead. I never get to see them up close, I don't even know what they look like. It doesn't have the same up-closeness to the combat that for example the Half-Lives provide. I'm kind of disappointed, but at the same time I think I was expecting a bit too much. I'll probably play it some more tomorrow and see if it picks up.

Yeah, but seriously. Was it just the graphics, which I guess are pretty good, that made this such a huge seller, or does the gameplay actually get interesting later on? Are there huge, awesome bosses or something. So far it seems like an extremely bland shooter, with some cool, but sometimes frustrating, cover system. And some fucking burly men.

I didn't say choosing the option was stupid. I'm just saying that the choice is really whether or not to restart now. It's 100% certain that you'll restart the computer at some point. edit: Also, I wasn't specifically talking about Windows Update or anything. Just any installer or software that asks you that, and for some reason the options are always the same.

I'm amazed that this game can have so many spoilers. What, does the flying silver guy turn out to be a butler?
