  1. MGS3: Fail? :(

Timing? More like blimey! I'm just hours away from giving MGS3 another go.
  2. Geometry Wars 2!

These sorts of games... I get so fucking angry by looking at that movie.
  3. Crock Band

I just heard Rock Band was made available here in Norway. I was going to buy it, and then I remembered the sequel, with better gear, has already been announced. I wonder why EA are acting like retards with this game. Is it all the controllers making distribution so hard for them, or do they have some awesome plan? What other games have had this terrible a release schedule? I know there have been some huge Nintendo game delays, but I cannot believe they are anywhere near the fucktardedness of RB and RB2.
  4. $t34md!

So, I just noticed the other day that I couldn't access Steam, and after getting my password reset I see this: I'm banned for cheating: Someone realised how lame a nick "toblix" is: I got a bunch of new friends: Here's a picture of Dillon, showing how much dollarz he saved by stealing my account: Of course, he spent the time well: So, if I've been a total dick the last couple of weeks, that could be Dillon. So anyway, that was awesome. I was going to go to bed, but I just noticed that 4Frags.xF | Log!c is S[ic]K is playing Counter-Strike. SO LONG SUCKORS!
  5. $t34md!

Sure, I completely understand. Steam is packed with awesome shit, and it's horrible and hard to force myself to avoid it because of this. Also, everyone agrees that awesome passwords are awesome. I'm not saying it's wrong of Steam to let the player be the responsible part, but I don't think I'm being totally ridiculous in expecting there to be some way out of it. Honestly, I would expect them to have that from a business perspective. In my experience, when I describe what is likely to happen to your account if someone guesses or steals your password (or, I repeat, someone exploits a security hole), which is being marked a cheater for the rest of your life, buying games through Steam starts to seem a bit less attractive. The only thing I see this as is a balance between Steam having these properties: A) People whose accounts have been hijacked can have a VAC ban lifted, and people won't have to fear permanent, non-liftable bans. Steam support receives a huge amount of unban requests, which they don't like. People who cheat are permanently banned, acting as both a prevention and a detterant, reducing the cheating problem. Obviously they just went with B. Oh, I just thought of another model for getting bans lifted. Each time your account was banned you could pay to get the ban lifted, the cost increasing each time. That way, repeated offenses quickly becomes impossible, and people who have weak passwords or don't secure their computers can learn their lesson but still continue playing.
  6. Last night I had my first meeting in English, which I'm fucking terrible at. I was teleconferencing with two guys in the US. It was horrible, and I'm sure that at one point one of them was about to ask if I was retarded. Anyway, there's only one way to become better at it, so in some perverse way I'm looking forward to the next time.
  7. $t34md!

Well, I admit that there's probably no perfect way of doing it (paying for it was only a suggestion, and likely a bad one), but I don't agree that preventing cheating among players is so much more important than keeping the players happy. I mean, I have full confidence in VAC, but I still fill cheated.
  8. $t34md!

Okay, i sent off one to gaben too, just to have tried everything. My guess is he's not too interested in my experiences with Steam Support.
  9. $t34md!

But that's not the point! They're forcing me to attach all my games to one account, making a single point of FAIL if it gets hijacked. At least earlier I'd get banned from either this game or that. Now all the games are affected in one, how you say, fell swoop. But that's not the point either. The point is that they allow no way whatsoever, ever, not as long as you live, not in a million years NEVER NEVER! to lift the ban. So, say some guy uses Steam for ten years and buys a shitload of games. Unfortunately his password gets keylogged or hijacked or there's some security hole in the software, and he's fucked up the ass like this:
  10. FUUUUUUCK!!!

Well, obviously. Who'd move it while playing? On a slightly related note, anyone know what the awesomest position for the Xbox 360 is, considering ventilation, noise, disc scratching, etc? Is there a difference?
  11. FUUUUUUCK!!!

What the fuck? It eats disks as well?
  12. $t34md!

Yeah, I'm not going to call them. But I'm still astounded they're able to have this policy of never ever lifting bans. I just told my brothers about this, and they were shocked to know that their precious games hanged by such a thin thread. With all the rage on the internet, where's the outrage about this? Is it just that it never happens to a lot of people at once, or what? From their support pages I get the impression they get a hojillion unban requests a day.
  13. PS3 Trophies

    They're fucking awesome.
  14. FUUUUUUCK!!!

Damn Microsoft for making a console that makes me worry every time I use it.
  15. Mass Effect

It's a long time ago, I don't really remember. I got the feeling I was nearing the end, though. It's one of the unfinished games I'm really almost sad about.
  16. Mass Effect

Oh, Anachronox. That was an awesome game if I ever played one. So funny, so varied, so great and awesome. I never finished it because I got stuck, not knowing, like som psychic, the exact combination of characters I had to take with me to win some boss battle. Anyway, I have been this close to actually viewing a playthrough of the game because I remember it as really well-written and awesome.
  17. Mass Effect

That sucks, and cheapens the experience for me a little. I'd rather they linearised the game more and just stopped with the DLC altogether, instead concentrating on the awesome sequel. For me it's more an epic story about my guy doing the stuff he did, and this makes it feel like they're considering the game more like a sandbox or something. Especially lame that they're adding more of arguably* the worst part of the game, the genericish height map quests. *I don't know how to use that word.
  18. Fallout 3: Proving the haters are right?

I'm just going to try to consider this a "new" game in a wholly separate setting, not related to FO and FO2. I have absolutely no expectations of this being anything other than a shooter. Maybe a bit talky and RPG-y shooter, but a shooter nonetheless. On its own it may be good, even great, but seen as a FO game, I fear even Fallout Tactics comes out ahead.
  19. Mass Effect

Fucking fux. Now The Sky is Falling is out, and I don't know what to do. It's like having finished a great, no awesome, book, and then suddenly you get a pamphlet, brochure, whatever called Here's Some Other Cool Shit That Happened. I don't know how to do this. Is it a continuation of the game (I doubt that very much) or is it just a new planet or something? I consider myself done with the game, having actually finished it. Do I launch it separately or something? What the fuck?
  20. Brutal Legend, more like... oh fuck

Blood on The Sand is cancelled. FUCK!
  21. Dark Sector

Not to sidetrack or anything, but where do you people think today's commercial games are now on the scale from merciless games that require hundreds of hours of dedication to complete or master to games full of tutorials and popups and arrows pointing where to go next and all that? For example, I hear there's a GPS in GTA4, which we discussed in another thread. Too much? Do you find yourself disabling stuff like this? edit: I guess this is sidetracking.
  22. I like this! It's like Phoenix Wright -- in fact, from what I can tell the game engine and much of the graphics are the same as all the earlier games -- but it's also a bit different. At least to me it seems there's more of a story going on than in the previous games. It's great that the first case isn't too simple, and that there's lots of stuff like in PW's DS episode, and also that it seems they managed to kick the perviness up a notch, with almost loli hentai action already in the second episode! Those Japanese, I tell ya... Anyway, the character art in this game is better than ever, the dialogue seems to be on par and it seems the cases are going to be as interesting and complicated as ever. Hopefully they'll do a CSI and have two Ace Attorney series now, and not retire Phoenix completely. So far even Apollo Justice seems to be focusing more on Phoenix than the new protagonist, so maybe interesting things will happen. Anyway, just buy this so they'll make more, I'm hooked.
  23. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

The way I understand it it's not the same team, no. I also read the translator interview, which was cool. Has there been any word on a PP release date? It would be awsome if this new series was great, and then the release interval between PW games could be halved if they timed their releases right.
  24. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

I wonder, since a lot of time goes by between each release of these games, do they spend all their time on these convoluted plots, to make sure everything fits? When unraveling them, it seems like it would be a nightmare to set these things up. Also, the UI never changes (much), and how long can it possibly take to draw the characters? It would be sweet to read about how they go about developing these cases. Also, how long till the next game? Will the point and click one come out before the next AJ one? Thinking about it, the next one hasn't even been announced yet, has it?
  25. Glorious crap!

Awezome pictures But look at this! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
