I love that doing my tax returns consists of me sending an SMS with a confirmation code. They just started with that the same year I had to do my first one.

When I get my Xbox 360 back, I will move to make The Lost and Damned a requirement for future GTA sessions. Then I will move to whack everyone off their bikes with a bat.

Okay, the DLC is starting to come out. Does anyone know how these are "plugged" into the game? Do they just appear somewhere in the wasteland, or are the explicitly "launched" in some way from the game?

Xbox: 2001 Xbox 360: 2005 PlayStation: 1995 PlayStation 2: 2000 PlayStation 3: 2006 Nintendo 64: 1996 GameCube: 2001 Wii: 2006 Okay, so it seems to me that since there's been about 5-6 years between console generations, we're about half-way through the prime lifetime* of our current generation of consoles should start hearing stuff about the next generation consoles soon, right? Maybe Q4 this year? Owning all three consoles (but not having played on any of them as much as most of you) it seems to me that the Xbox 360 is the only one that fits this description. It has a shitload of games and they just released a "refresh" of the GUI. I still feel like the PS3 is new, and not in a good way. Granted, it was the last console I got, but it's like people are still talking about PS3 games that finally makes people buy a PS3. Shouldn't these awesome console-selling games come out almost immediately and not this late? I haven't heard anyone saying "this is the reason you should get an Xbox 360" in a long while. Those games have been out forever, it seems. That Home is now in beta seems so weird to me. Each console's strengths and weaknesses seem to have been agreed upon now. Obviously the next version of each console will play on the strengths of both its predecessor and its competitors. The next Xbox will continue with awesome online shit, achievements, etc., the next Nintendo will be smaller and cheaper than the others and keep its motion controllers, etc. and the next PlayStation will be monolithic, sleek, and a marvel of technology. However, how will the established weaknesses of each generation will be improved upon. Will each system "overcompensate" and focus a lot on ridding themselves of these associations? Will the next Xbox be as silent and stable as the Wii? Will the Next PlayStation be smaller, cheaper and have more platform exclusives (I don't know if Sony can just do this, or how this works)? Will the Wii be relatively more powerful and have more online functionality? *Meaning they're the latest and greatest.

Well, this is hilarious. If you've paid any attention to the Grand Thumb Auto threads in the multiplayer gaming forum, you will no doubt have seen awesome animated gifs and Youtube links of our multiplayer antics. I thought this was so cool I wanted to try making some myself. So I bought some DV cassettes, and today I borrowed my dads DV camera and a tripod. I set up the tripod pointing at the screen almost parallel to me to minimize distortion. It looked ready to go. But, I thought I'd do a test recording and try transferring the video to my computer and shit like that. So I took the camera to my computer, hooked up it up and inserted a tape. A weird sound indicated that something was wrong, also that the camera apparently entered "recovery mode", whatever the fuck that is. I tried the other tape, same thing... so I looked on the tapes, and it seems the camera has fucked them up, twisting and shearing them into something perverted. So, my plans of filming Tuesday's GTA multiplayer session seems to have failed. But you know what, that doesn't really matter, because I just turned on my Xbox and... ((((((( )))))))RED RING OF DEATH((((((()))))))

Grand Thumb Auto X: The Fellowship of the Thumb

Yes, I guess it's happening again this week, and yes, it has all gone to shit. I'd start a new thread, but I'm all out of joy. -
It doesn't even make any sense, what he says!

Jesus, to get to the family I have to go through a tunnel full of mirelurks. Or at least there was one there. I'm all beat up and my weapons are broken and ammoless. I better head back to Megaton first.

I love the fact that after I've nearly died clearing out some cave thing out in the wastes, the scorpions and raiders will never ever ever respawn. Right? They won't? Ever? There's no respawning right?

Yeah, I was surprised at the combat difficulty. It may just be me not "getting" the various systems, though, like repairing and bartering. I though I had plenty of ammo and stimpaks, but they quickly find their use. Also, I tend to spend skill points and perks towards more adventury things like conversation options. So I've gotten [speech (100%)] a couple of times, which indicates I'm a bit ahead of the curve on that. I should probably spend some points on skills that let me kill dudes with fewer bullets.

Okay, so I've played this some more, and I've gotten over the bump where I stopped playing the last time. I've done the quests in Megaton and the Super-Duper Mart, and I did some of the fire ant stuff in Grayditch. I'm currently in Aretu, but I'm getting the feeling I'm doing the wrong quests or something... both the fire ants and the horrible WoW-esque river monsters took ages and all my ammo to kill, and the (feeling of) openness of the game leads me to believe there's a real chance I may have headed in the wrong direction or something. I basically have three quests I can pursue: The Arefu one (Blood Ties?), where I have to find "The Family" The GrayDitch one (Those!), where I have to enter the subway, The main quest one, where I head towards DC. Is there a distinct difference in difficulty between these? The last one I instinctively want to delay, since it's the main quest, and I always delay those. The second one seems like madness, since the fire ants burn me to shit in no time, and no doubt I'd have to face a bunch of them (and likely a mother ant or some shit). The third one, I don't know, I may be able to talk my way through it, but it seems like a combat heavy thing. Anyone have some advice on which way to go, or even if there's some other stuff I should be looking at? I'm at level five, I think. The enemies I met going North-West were easy (some flies and stuff), but once I hit the river I was raped through a hole. PLEASE HELP!!!!

It may not be a glitch, but I love when I critically hit someone in the head with a shotgun in Fallout 3, and the head comes loose, but only just, so that it balances for a second and then rolls off the shoulders.

That was awesome. If you see in the distance, right after you switch the camera angle for a second, that asshole in the black car, whoever he is, flips right off the edge. RACE OVER FOR HIM, TO BE SURE! -
Holy fucking shit that's cute. And I'm not easily cuted, or cutified, or whatever. Cutestrated?

I always wondered where that car went. Anyway, I'm definitely going to try to have the next session filmed. Watching these clips is amazing. Now, to get myself a camera. -

Yeah, I'd rather jump off a bridge in a burning ice cream van than finish last. n0wak, those clips are fucking awesome. Do you use a mobile cell phone or something? I have half a mind to set up a camcorder next week and see if I can get something cool.
