Just kidding. Read this. I'm also very happy about the recent huge amount of cool indie games appearing too, as well, especially indie games that aren't shit, like, let's face it, most of them are. It's like a lot of developers are realising that they're not EA or whomever, and are playing on their indie strengths (experimenting with cool shit) rather than trying to emulate $20,000,000 projects only with shittier art and sound and everything. The time-travelling games like Cursor*10 and Timebot are short and sweet and kick the ass of the piece of shit that is the game about the time-controlling cat with the vacuum cleaner... Klix? Smax? Or was it a dog? Anyway, a lot of cool came out of indie games getting proper physics engines. I've always been a physics whore (I came while watching the early HL2 physics tech demo, with the people and barrels floating in the water, wood splintering, etc.), and couldn't believe my eyes when Bridge builder came along: a simple game using physics, how precious. And now there are like a million of them -- awesome. Right now Braid is the one indie game I'd kill for. I'd take someone's life, really. And that game with the silhouette jumping around with gears and sliding crates, that only has that one flash movie and may not be a game at all, what was it called? Flox? Blyx?

I'm not going to play it any more! It's over! I'm done. I'm playing Super Mario Galaxy!!

Oh Lord, how I needed this. Colors! Bumpy things, crystal bits! Speech bubbles and coins! I defeat enemies by jumping on them! It's really a joy to play.

What, before I come crawling back? I've been trying to stop playing that game for over six months. Why would I suddenly change my mind?

Don't give up? I'm through. There's no question. I can't remember last time I felt so relieved. I had my mind set on completing the game, but for some reason I just decided to stop playing. Usually I'd feel bad about quitting like that, but now I don't. It's just too stressful a game for me.

The parts where they didn't act were awesome.

I played some more today, finished chapter 5-1. I entered the garbage shaft, and in one of the rooms down there I faced just a bunch of enemies. As they raped me, I was filled not with frustration, but with a warm peace. As Chuck (or whatever the fuck the guy's name is) was punctured by darts, bitten by monsters growing out of necks and crushed by the huge metal hammers of roaring brutes, his shotgun uselessly clicking and his completely full health bar in less than a second reduced to a pulsating red sliver, I smiled. I had found the end. I held the power button on the Wii until it turned off, and for a little while longer. Tomorrow, I'm picking up Super Mario Galaxy.

This looks pretty awesome. It'll be totally awesome if Valve don't fuck shit up by going after them.

Just checking in, updating my RE4 diary. I have stopped playing anything else now because RE4 has drawn me in and taken over my life. I work, eat and the rest is just playing RE4 or thinking about playing RE4. Since completing 4-2, I've done all sorts of horrible shit, like the mines where the chainsaw guys from this post made numerous return appearances, and the tower with the elevator that the bad guys drop onto, and the huge beast in the top floor, and the island base with the huge mini-gun man and the regenerating wobbly fuckers with stretchy arms. Jesus. I'm guessing I'm nearing the end of 5-1 now, and I swear to God I will never start playing another Resident Evil game again, for as long as I live. I love it, but it's eating at my soul, feasting on my dreams. I never dream, but recently I have dreamt this is no coincidencethere are no coincidences I have to finish this game before it finishes me

With GTA, we've settled on 21:00 GMT as a standard time, which seems to fit people across the world (though only maybe jobless people in the US, I dunno). Who'd be interested in an organized thing, and when'd you be available, both in terms of days of the weeks and hours of the day?

You're right, I don't remember that from MGS2. Which is weird, because I have an excellent memory, like that guy in that movie or whatever it was.

What?! This blows my mind! I knew the original Xbox buttons were pressure sensitive because Dead or Alive used these explicitly to differentiate between hard and soft attacks. I can't remember that even once, other than in that game, I've heard talk of pressure sensitive buttons. I always assumed this was an exclusive thing with the Xbox, and that they stopped using it and didn't have it in the 360 because it was hard to use. I certainly have never (that I know of) heard of the PS2/3 having this either. Am I going crazy?

Okay, let's say I'm looking for some television series to start watching from the beginning? Would you recommend this one? Could you guys who love Battlestar Galactica perhaps name some other favorite shows of yours, so I can see if we're into the same thing?
