Yeah, I'd also point out the sound compression as a major annoyance with their games. It's not a huge deal, since the games are really awesome, but it's really weird that these well-animated and well-voiced games manage to sound so... compressy.

This could mean that in the future, instead of tilting the controller when balancing a dude on a log, we fucking have to get up and lean to the sides. And instead of selecting stuff in a menu by moving the sticks, we reach out and "touch" it. Seriously, this is the kind of stupid shit that's bound to appear as developers struggle to "take advantage" of the new tech in a lot of games already in development. Especially since none of this stuff can be done cross-platform, so each version will have its own stupid little mini games where you have to prance around your living room like an idiot to perform some trivial task. So that's the minor down-side. Of course, there's major up-side, which is that all this new technology has tons of unknown potential beyond the table tennis and shooting gallery, and some day some genius will uncover and make fantastic use of this. For example, combining the coming 1:1 motion mapping tech (Natal, MotionPlus and Sony's) with Johnny Chung Lee style 3d vision and the new 3d displays and making awesome first person ninja adventure games. Also, think of the Japanese porn games!

When starting a LBP level, I find that just creating a bunch of shit, like blocks and pistons and rotating pieces of shit is an awesome way to get started. It's super easy to just continue building to the right, and when you get something cool, just start the level there. I'm not into the whole "planning anything out in advance" thing.

Well, that was one of the awesomest one yet. The cops & robbers rounds were pure brilliantness. Favourite moments: As the mafia baws, I crossed the entire city by running on the elevated train tracks. When I reached the end I jumped off and joined Wrestlevania in his waiting car. Just as we were about to escape a hail of bullets came from above -- Detective Sergeant TheJamesM had been hot on my heels and fired on us from the tracks. I don't know if that was what did us in, but it was an awesome moment nonetheless. The first (I think) cops & robbers game, where me and Wrestlevania ended up in a high-speed (although rather dull) boat-chase across the map, ending in a final showdown aboard the rusty wreckage of a sinking ship. Unfortunately I ran out of bullets just as Grippage came along and saved him. Going for first place with TheJamesM right on my heels in a huge fucking bus. I wonder what fabulous multiplayer options await us in BOGT.

So I want to buy Rock Band and Rock Band 2. It seems I'll have to buy a set of RB1 instruments, as RB2 instruments are not available yet (and maybe never will be). My question is: how much do these suck? Should I start importing RB2 drums from overseas? I can use my Xbox 360 Guitar Hero 3 guitar no problem, right? Should I maybe just buy the games separately, use my GHIII guitar and buy the ION drums? Singing will never happen. I'll have to buy RB1 to get the songs from it, right? This whole ordeal frustrates me so. I've sort of decided Guitar Hero is the less worthy one, but at the same time there's no fucking detective work to be done to get a workable set together and start playing. I can just go and buy a World Tour box and that's it. But Rock Band is worth the fucking hassle, right?
