I think the title is too intellectual. How about something more straightforward and down to earth, that people can actually understand without getting a degree in intellecualism? My Trials HD playing has been eschewed by the Bat Man, X-Files, some Wadjet Eye Games games, Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton (not Henry Hatsworth), but I agree it's pretty great. Not greatest ever -- that would be Commandos 2 or Half-Life 2 or something -- but really great. For me, the whole key to its greatness lies in its quickness in letting you restart when you mess something up. If they'd waited another half a second or something I wouldn't've played it anywhere as much as I have.

You should see Push.

I'm playing on normal, which is pretty risky for me, since I hate a challenge.

But that doesn't make any sense. Low resolution material shown on a higher-resolution display would be less pixelated, but smaller, if the displays were viewed at the distances where they both would appear equally large (i.e. closer to smaller monitor) and if the monitor did not upscale the material.

Yeah, but what's considered normal screen size is probably only going to increase. I really don't think video walls are going to be considered far-fetched a couple of decades from now. Here, at least, before HDTV, a 25"-28" CRT screen was quite normal. Today, 42" is the new standard (and 50" isn't a crazy proposition) for a living room screen, and that's still with most people watching SDTV and DVD. Using some reasonable logic, you could say that with each jump in resolution, "normal" screen sizes double. So, when 8k (or whatever) is being rolled out, people will be watching their Blu-rays on 100" screens.

Blargh, I have to buy them one at a time? -
Well that was awesome. Lots of very excellent moments in there, despite that one loading issue. I like that even in the boring modes (sniper wars, helicopter races) there's always fun things to do.

Sit down. Now, try this: turn your left hand towards you, and the right hand away. Then, with the nail of your middle finger, gently tap around the veins on your left wrist. Now, did you find a spot which, when tapped, caused you to involuntarily stand up in pain? No? Well hooray for you. I have that, and it's scary as hell. It's as though my body has mutated and exposed a cluster of nerve endings right there on my wrist. This is just gentle tapping we're talking about. I imagine that, if I were to accidentally hit that spot with something harder, I might fucking die. It's real. I have asked several people, but everyone thinks I'm making it up or something. edit: Holy shit I just realised I'm a boss.

The first awesome memory I have of playing a video game is Rick Dangerous 2 on the Amiga at the store. My dad took us there to see if it would make a good present for me and my brother, but I was so enthralled by the awesome graphics and gameplay of Rick Dangerous 2 to even ask the question of why out Dad would take us to a store like this. When we got the Amiga later I remembered the game, but not what it was called, and I had no way of finding out either. Luckily I found it later at a store in London by recognizing a shot on the back of the box. So awesome. That game still looks fantastic. Oh, I had forgotten how awesome and non-related game covers could be back then.

That's Portsmouth Sinfonia. I have one of their albums and it's really good, actually.

Okay, so there are three Scarecrow sequences? That would be totally awesome to know
-
Oh, Lord. Right after hearing about Jake, no Nick, being stuck on the Bane fight, I got to that part myself. I thought "well, if this turns out t--" and then I had completed it. Oh, and the Scarecrow part was awesome. Even if the gameplay itself was really simple, the visuals were magnificent.

He might as well.

Grand Thumb Auto XXVIV: Part One of a Trilogy

I want to apologize to THE JMAES for backing into him whilst initiating our the truck race. I know it sucks, and I said I would stop, but I didn't, and for that I am truly sorry. Please know that I will strive even harder not to do that again in the future. Thank you. -
My shame at not having played The Last Express is starting to weigh more than my laziness. It's not supported by ScummVM, is it?

I'm wondering if Microsoft has just decided to, instead of fixing the various issues with the console, lower the price so much that people can just buy a new one when it breaks, like a bulb or my shoes.

(assuming you're talking about Heavy Rain) Well, that's what everyone assumes. There's always the possibility that they've totally gone and made awesome scenarios that can not all be experienced in the same play through. There might be half an hour of hospital hijinks, complete with a QTE chase through the children's ward, throwing teddy bears and SNES consoles at your pursuer, which you'll only see if you get shot in the shoulder in the store.

This shit is off the hook, etc. I wish I knew people who didn't think stuff like that was retarded.
-
Do you have to both at the same time?
-
I'd say it's worth it if only for the good parts.
-
I'm in! How much is a load of helicopters these days? Hundreds of pounds, at least, I'm quite sure!
-
So, I'll be getting this, I think, today. What manner of Batman knowledge about the Batman canon do I need to know about to fully enjoy the game? Is it tied closely to the two movies, or is it based on comics or what?

I'd very much like to see that paper map. Planning out all that stuff from the ground up (or down, as it were) sounds awesome and fun.
