  1. Diablo III

Is there an interesting backstory to this? When I played, the real money auction house was a neat thing I checked sometimes to look at how much money people were crazy enough to expect/pay for cool swords. Is the reason they're shutting it down something other than that not enough people were using it?
  2. GTA V

I love how the intro sequence with various shots of the beach and pier is a great demo of how the aging consoles struggle with asset streaming. Also, I've only played about an hour so far, but for most of that time it felt like my PS3 was about to catch on fire. This game is really going to shine on PC and next-gen consoles.
  3. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

The sequel to Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story is Mario & Luigi: Dream Team! Sad to see they're losing the pixel graphics, but I guess it's gotta be 3D, and I still have high hopes. From what I understand, Alphadream are doing this one as well, so there's bound to be lots of interesting mechanics and hilarious stuff or whatever.
  4. GTA V

Again, I did the thing I where I preordered it back in June and then a couple of weeks ago I had forgotten about it, and did it again, so now I just got two shipment notifications. One's to my home address, and the other's to my office, though, so I guess I could argue for some sort of clever redundancy planning.
  5. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Thing is, I don't need to get up there. I already unlocked the way to the next area, but I wanted to completely explore the place, and there's this one platform, on the same screen as a save block, that I can't reach. I'm assuming all the trees are supposed to take me somewhere, but there's nowhere to go with this fucking thing. Now I'm obsessed. There's no mention of it anywhere, and all the video playthroughs ignore it.
  6. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Okay, so I turned on the water in Dreamy Mushrise Park and activated a bunch of mustache trees, but they don't get me high enough to reach all the platforms. Is there a secret trick to getting them to throw me farther? I'm currently by the first one near where you start, and there's a platform and I can't get up it's sooo frustrating plz helllppppppp
  7. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

Well shit. That was the event Wrestle set up for Episodes. Umm, is everyone good with Episodes? This is going terribly.
  8. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

The problem is not enough people reply to this thread, so we don't know if moving it will actually result in more players or less. And nobody takes charge and actually moves the event, so nothing happens. Well, that ends now. I'm taking control of this bullshit, and I'm moving the event to Sunday night. Same time.
  9. GTA V

So console versions get a biplane and PC a parachute?! ONce again the shitty consoles ruins pcgaming..... Id rather have less trees and a plance to be hoest..
  10. GTA V

You can already start playing sort of.
  11. Recommend me some good two-player co-ops! (Please!)

I played it with Lu, but I still had a good time! Torchlight 2 seems like it could be fun if Diablo 3 didn't already burn you out.
  12. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

Okay, let's workshop. Thought experiment: We move next week's GTA 24 hours closer to today (Sunday night instead of Monday night for Europeans.) Who will now be able to make it, and who will not?
  13. GTA V

I may have asked about this before, sooooooooo ... Does anyone know if this game will be available digitally on one or both of the consoles at launch? I remember making an actual physical effort to get a hold of an actual, physical copy of The Last of Us, and then finding it on the PSN store when I got home. Are all console games released digitally at this point, maybe? I really don't know. Oh, I guess there was the debacle with the GTA V preloading, so I guess that means it'll at least be available digitally on PS3. So I guess I'm only wondering about Xbox 360. edit: I went and found out myself, and apparently it will be delayed slightly on the Xbox because MS are fools: "For those asking about digital pre-orders on Xbox LIVE, the Xbox 360 Games on Demand service does not offer the ability to pre-order games or make them available on launch day. That being said, we will be making GTAV available via Games on Demand as soon as it's technically feasible and permitted by Microsoft."
  14. GTA V

Thanks for not embedding those! You are good people.

  16. Spelunky!

I've been popping in to see if any of my Steam friendz are doing it, and no.
  17. Ruining Children's Minds with Marketing

Ghost Castle and Mouse Trap both made my young mind explode with awe. So many pieces!
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

So I've watched the three first episodes of Utopia, and they've made me very uncomfortable, especially the third one, in which there is a long scene of multiple executions of teachers and children in a school, a scene in which a care worker and a girl's mother are executed in front of her, and a scene in which a man is threatened with having his wife violently raped. It's a beautifully shot show, with some fantastic music and acting and – so far – an interesting plot, but it has this cruel streak that disconcerts me in the same way Kick-Ass did, only to a stronger degree. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I think it makes me uncomfortable if a film or show uses (what feels to me like) extreme stuff like violence and torture (especially involving children) seemingly just to be edgy or extreme, without "earning" the right somehow by balancing it with some great reason for having that stuff in there. I don't react that way to all extreme stuff, either. I have no problem with crazy bullshit like horror torture porn movies or whatever – it's when I find something otherwise great and amazing, and then seemingly for no reason people's hands are shot off or something and it's portrayed with glee or indifference, I feel ... sort of betrayed by the film, I guess. I wonder what's wrong with me!!! Anyway, I'll probably watch the last three episodes of Utopia, but I'm sort of not looking forward to it. Oh, and I watched World War Z. Didn't really enjoy it much, except for the wordless standoff with the gaunt Dr. zombie in that chamber towards the end.
  19. Let's Draw Video Games

I usually work with whiteboard marker on whiteboard. My ideas come to me as I'm waiting for my cup of coffee to finish brewing, and if I estimate there to be enough time left of the brewing process, I usually get right to work, often finishing before the coffee is done. Sometimes I wait, and draw holding the cup of coffee in one hand, sipping between strokes. I usually have to clear the whiteboard with a specialized whiteboard eraser before I begin, and usually I'm then erasing my previous piece.
  20. Civilization V

A trailer is available here*. I think it's cool that a strategy game trailer is able to be ten times more epic than any other game trailer. * - ign.com

    The music?
  22. Let's Draw Video Games

This Steam thing is so cool it should have its own thread!
  23. Looking for new laptop for Unity3D, Blender

I'm very happy with my Dell purchases, though only one of them was a laptop.
  24. Maximillian Payne: Part Trois

I bought this game at some point, and since I recently read GTA V will take some cues from the combat in Max Payne 3, I thought I'd give it a whirl. Man, what a obnoxious game. The idiotic dialogue, incessant xtreme video effects and dialogue pop-ups are just the worst. It's like watching the Parks and Recreations intro on a loop. I hope GTA V doesn't take too many pages from Max Payne 3's metaphorical book.
