Yeah, I hope so too. I'm just afraid that the lure of the quick cash-in sequel will be too strong. Maybe they'll do the CoD and let multiple studios churn out sequels. That would be totally awesome I'm just thinking that making a sequel to this game would be harder than making one to many other games. I'm not sure why I think that, but I guess that it has to do with so much of the game being about becoming proficient with the game mechanics and acquiring the equipment and skills to complete it. In a FPS you can just add new weapons and new locations, and bob's your uncle, but that wouldn't really work in an Arkham Asylum 2. You'd need a completely new set of mechanics.

Yeah, no doubt about that. What do you mean?edit: Oh, and I just found this.

They should be. Very satisfied. Also, about the post-credits ... they obviously had to have something like that, and I guess a sequel is a given considering the success (I assume) they've had with this game. However, how do you make a sequel to this? There's not much to improve on. It's like they've maxed out all the stats in the genre.

I would give a million dollars to know how they made this game.

I DID IT, I DID IT! Right after I posted, I thought I'd give it another go, as my adrenaline level was back to normal. And I fucking nailed it. I used the tactic of always staying as far away from both titans as possible. To do that, I'd move slowly and just counter all attacks. The distance from the titans let me avoid their throwing bodies and gave me time to dodge and stun them whenever they charged. When they hit the walls I ran over and attacked them, but made sure to always counter when thugs attacked. The difference here is that I was playing it cool, and not focusing just on damaging the titans but also making sure I wasn't hurt. So, in the end I got both titans and kicked all the thugs' asses before I proceed to the Joker fight. And that, of course, I beat right away, as it was just like the titan fight, only without the titans... Thanks for the tips, though. I'm glad I gave it another go and finished it. What an awesome game. Now, I'd like to talk some more about the third Scarecrow sequence.

Sorry for dredging this old thing up again, but I'm wondering if any of you could give me a pointer or two on the final titan fight, the one in Party Crasher. I've tried this ten times now, and I'm able to get one of them down, but I'm unable to: Keep an eye on the titans to dodge thrown bodies Dodge or fight bad guys Batarang the titans when they charge ... all at the same time, and the thugs keep on pouring in. Did you guys fight the thugs at all, or did you just dodge them and focus on the titans? Is there a pattern to when the titans charge or throw or whatever? It seems sometimes they can't stop charging, and sometimes they just stumble about. It seems that, if I just stand in place and hit Y repeatedly, I'll stand in place and counter whenever someone tries it. Is this worth doing or will I eventually drown in thugs?

Okay, just to check. Has anyone here still not purchased this game? If so, why not? It's only $20. If you like awesome, beautiful games, it's totally worth it. If not, buy it anyway and consider it a donation to the movement of making awesome cheap PC games. The visuals alone are just brilliantly amazing. It's an endless torrent of lovely, beautiful, smooth, hand-drawn graphics and animation. The attention to detail is mind blowing. Every single background in this game is in itself worth $20. And every little sound, every drop and scrape. Holy maloney.

Yeah, you're probably right. Would those allow you to hook back into the flash runtime, though, or would it just be not showing the menu?

Also, I've said it before: I'd be happy to donate some bandwidth/beer dollars to the podcast. Just give me a paypal name.

ysbreker, happy birthday!

Okay, I've played this for a while and I love it. It's very well done, very polished. The graphics and sound are AAA or whatever you call it when when they're totally awesome, and the puzzles are sweet. There's nothing clunky about it, like is often the case with indie games. This game is like an awesome mix of Ico and Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth. The world is positively soaked in atmosphere. The only think that has annoyed me to this point is the right-click thing. This is a limitation of the game basically being a stand-alone Flash, and when you right click you get the standard Flash menu instead of, say, cancelling the inventory cursor. It's lame, but there's nothing they could've done about it, other than choosing to do it on some other platform. Anyway, they should at least've had some shake-the-cursor thing or whatever to replace it, but it's not a big deal.

Already looking forward to it.

No, they'll have to get some critical mass of users onto the system. My guess is they'll at one point automagically make all gmail users wave users too, either by integrating the systems or allowing very easy switching. They'll also have to make setting up federated servers easy peasy for companies. Then, I guess, they'll have to wait for it to spread like a virus.

Downloading at 14kB/s. About 6 and a half hours left.

Just though I'd give Batman another go, as I often do after realising I have rage quitted too quickly. And guess what, this fucking amazing game saves your progress during boss fights, so that when I reloaded my game I was in the middle of the Ivy fight, instead of back at the start. This is amazing and unexpected, and awesome.

So I want to read Batman comics, because I've come to realise that there are awesome stories to be told in that universe, and not just fist fights at the docks. But where to begin? I'm assuming that most Batman comics are garbage, and that there are a handful of good ones. Is there a consensus about what the "right ones" to read are? A preferred reading order? In short, what do have to buy to get all the awesome Batman stuff, without having to read all the crap?

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I've now read Year One, which was awesome, and have started on TDK Returns, which is super awesome.

We should all share our addresses!

It's 100% dependent upon others also having it. There's a bunch of thumbs people on now, which resulted in a slightly crazy wave, but on the whole it's pretty uneventful.

This has got to be the best news I've heard in a long time. I'm quite sure I read in an interview or preview that they were doing nothing with regards to multiplayer. It sounded probable too, what with TLAD multiplayer being the half-assed thing it was. This, however... this... it's amazing. I'm not expecting them to include the original (or TLAD) multiplayer stuff in this new one, but as long as they're keeping GTA race we're bound to get a number of fresh Grand Thumb Auto sessions out of this.

HOLY POPE SHIT: They're adding a bunch of new weapons including sticky bombs and a boatload of new deathmatch locations (oh, let's see... more than 17!!!!!)

Holy shit: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/2009/10/14/1481/multiplayer_in_the_ballad_of_gay_tony_-_first_screens_and_details Apparently they're doing stuff with multiplayer after all. Also: !!!AWESOME!!!

Trailer here. For some reason, this was the brief cut that made the greatest impression on me: I don't know why, but it just seems awesome or something.

Grand Thumb Auto XXXIV: It's sometimes too early.

There are a bunch of weird modes that are cool, but only once or twice, and then they've gone ahead and removed GTA race, which is the backbone of GTA fun. It's crazy.
