Grand thumbs Auto: 36.99999... This time it's impersonal.

It's not, though. -
It's sad that since the developers of these games are Japanese, they're not reading forums like this and getting awesome feedback and tips, but instead reading crazy Japanese forums where I'm guessing all they want is bigger hair and swords.

I disagree.

I'll be ready for BOGT on Tuesday, but if people would like another week to get through it before starting multiplayer we could always do a vanilla session this week. Also, nice roundoff error. -
I've always felt a weird sort of attraction towards these manager games. Like racing games, they seem to focus on making some sweet ass user interfaces. I've never actually played one, so I might be completely wrong, but I imagine football manager games to have the most awesome, slick, smooth, responsive UIs of any genre.

Yeah, no, it's great that they're adding a feature that lots of people want. I just think the implementation of it is a bit jarring. I really liked it when you heard the little hip-hop fanfare that marked a completed mission, and think the whole rainbow thing with checkboxes and target percentages is horrible. I would've hidden it and let the players who were interested in the percentage score be able to show it by hitting X or something. It sucks to have completed a hard mission, and then it goes all gay and shows a big 35% sign and lots of empty checkboxes. It sort of takes away from the feeling of accomplishment. Also, I know people have commented on this all the way back from the original game, but is the dialogue a bit more... I dunno, strange than usual? The gangstas are all "yo, esse, AHAHAH!!! U was all up in this mother fucker, etc.", and then they suddenly use a word that makes one think of a distinguished gentle manne reading aloud from his vellum edition of Johnson's Dictionary or some shit. Anyway, the sticky bombs are hot shit.

I always find it charming when pixel-art games make a conscious decision to zoom in on the graphics like that. I can't remember if they're trying to cover it up with some effect or something, but whenever it's really blatantly zooming in without any filtering I love it.

I've played it for a bit. I like it. I like that it's not hastily made, and has lots of cut-scenes and new shit. The new frrrrrr gun is awesome too. I don't like the whole post-mission summary thing. It's just jarring and tacked-on. I like that they've continued being more forgiving with checkpoints and stuff. Althought these chapters have been great, the compressed curve of difficulty, when you get your weapons, etc. really makes it obvious these are "mini games". I really think the large scope of GTA IV, that you become more experienced, get richer and get access to new weapons much more slowly, felt more realistic or believeable or whatever. In both TLAD and BOGT you come right of the gate with SWAT grade automatic shotguns. I would definitely buy more of these very well-made episodes, but I wouldn't be sad if they were making a whole new sequel instead.

Wow.

I suck, so when I find a game that that's so good I consider it "precious", or whatever, I end up stupidly trying to prolong the gaming experience by playing in shorter sessions further apart, always to the detriment of my final experience. I do this with all of Valve's games, the Phoenix Wrights, the GTAs, the awesome Zelda games (currently only Minish Cap) and also the Mario & Luigis. So I'm probably somewhere around 7 or 8 percent in. However, as is indicated by my short and sparse sessions with this game, I find it totally awesome. I still feel like I'm in the beginning part (mostly due to still getting introduced to new mechanics, although I seem to remember this went on almost all the way through Partners in Time), so I'm not really able to give a full impression, but the fucking shitting sweet stuff I loved so much from the first game is also very much present in this one, too, as well: the music, the sweet pixel art and ultra smooth animation, the awesome and hilarious dialogue (the French guy is great), the interesting fighting moves, etc.

This is like the inverse thread of all other threads here.

More like 100 % action, 25% RPG, 75% adventure, 20% racing and 145% awesome fucking super fun. And 50% ball simulator.

Just kidding. But, this thing is apparently in the Liberty City Episodes box: Are those Vice City colors?

I'm totally flabbergasted by hearing about people who don't like HL2, even after giving it a fair go. It's totally incomprehensible to me, and I think it's awesome that there's some segment of gamers that actually don't like the game.

Yeah, I sorted it out. I had to go to Download History under Account Management. The Xbox 360 UI is a big ugly mess.

Jesus this shit is slick. The car decoration tool is a bit weird, though. The controls are weird and imprecise, and it has this strange combination of being extremely polished but very poorly though-out. In fact, I believe I could pull a better car decoration tool out of my ass, and I'm not even a game designer.

The only difference would be that I'd be manhandled by security personnel after the ride.

If I were to steal a plane, which is something I'd only do once (for many reasons), it'd have to be a commercial airliner.

I so envy people who live in the world.

Well, first of all, it's not the first time things look like ass in screen shots, but look super awesome in motion, when you play it, and it has motion and sound. For example, almost all games are like that. Second, it doesn't look that bad, does it?

Awesome story: I entered the bonus content download code and started the download of the bonus cars package. Instead of selecting "download in background" or whatever, I accidentally clicked "cancel download". Now I can't resume the thing, because it's not in the list of downloadable shit, and I can't redeem the code again.

Yeah, this is great. Although I'll have to wait, I really cannot.
-
Well that was awesome.
