Just watched this horrible and weird trailer for FF13. I think the best part of it was that the guy introduces the European and North-American release date, and then this appears: 09.03.2010.

Yeah, more breaking arms and shooting out kneecaps!!!

Aanyway, is this something people want to try? I know there's almost as many different thumbs multiplayer sessions as there are days in the week, but if enough of us want to strategize, there could be a thing, no? Not that I'm any good at strategy.

That was unexpected and weird. Also, I watched some variations on the end cinematic. It was disappointing to see that mostly it's just switched out character meshes.

Just finished it. Pretty cool, although a disappointment compared to the first game. While ME1 felt like a solid PC game, this one had console written all over it.

I had to set up my new router for gamingz mode, which is why I took my damn time getting in. At least I got to play a couple of rounds before we stopped, including a horrible, horrible helicopter escape. -
After much waiting This game is out, and I just ordered it. I'm so excited I just can't hide it!

Okay, this is embarrassing. For some reason I never used the special attacks. I guess it's because some of them were finicky with the controls and prone to failure at the slightest timing error on my part, and I could always take down the enemies and bosses using nothing but jumps, punches and hammers. So, the moral of the story is: use special attacks.

Never mind! Retraction to be issued.

Holy fucking shit what the hell is this final boss battle? They had to make this awesome game and then have it suck so badly? I spent ages chipping away at that god damn thing, and then blaeeehh.

Sure, the problem appears on my computer, but the problem is the software, not me (the user). I've seen this stuff happening on too many different computers to believe its anything but sloppy coding. UI-wise I don't even know what's going on. What link is there supposed to be between the Steam voice settings and the in-game settings? The control panels are very similary, although in the Steam one you can choose the mic device.
-
Steam's voice system sucks, because it doesn't work properly. Not only can it behave in crazy ways, like only transmitting sound between some of the people connected, and sometimes only one way, but the user interface and game integration is horrible. There are separate settings for voice in the game (e.g. L4D, L2D, etc.) and in the Steam UI. The connection, and how they affect one another, seem to be determined by a completely stochastic process. I wonder how much of the problem is caused directly by horrible software, and how much is caused by my having two sound cards (making the software horrible indirectly, which is no better). Not that Skype is perfect. I've been disconnected a couple of times, and the mic has auto-muted at occasions, although that might just be the intelligent compression algorithm that noticed that it could just as well deactivate the sound transmission altogether.

Okay, so I just beat the in what was yet an amazing and clever fight. It's amazing how Alphadream manage to come up with so many different foes and attacks that remain fresh and surprising throughout the game. I like how each type of enemy start out only using their "simple" attacks at first, but later on start using variations of combos. The only enemy I could do without is that god damn guy who barfs up a stack of bricks and throws it at you. It's not that they're hard to beat, it's just that it takes so much time, and there's never any variation. Also, I could probably do without the huge number of enemies in some areas. If they reduced the total foe count by 25%, I'd be fine with that. I saw you mentioned that Bowser got the spike ball thing close to the end. I've been using it for a while now, and still haven't gotten to Bowser's Castle (which I assume is where the final showdown will take place). Anyway, awesome game.

I was about to post a screenshot from the game Alley Cat by Bill Willams, but then I realized that that was about a cat, not a mouse.

A MARVEL OF TECKNOLOGY -
Oh, I didn't know being good was a requirement. I thought we played games because we wanted to HAVE A GOOD TIME.
-
12, goodness! Do we even have that many people willing to play?
-
This is an awesome idea, except the part where everyone spams podcast jokes. How many are interested in this, and how many players are there on a TF2 team?
-
I'm up for noob TF2.

Everyone knows the story, the servers have been down for quite some time now. I wonder what the outcome of this will be. Do you think they'll just fix it and then keep it up, or will they release "cracks" as patches, drop the whole thing and hope to restore trust? I'm not "into" the industry enough to know what to expect from Ubisoft, but I think both sound likely.
-
That sounds even more awesome than how awesome I thought The Ship sounded.

I'm totally up for Thumbs strategy gaming! Tell me more about this... Greed Corp.
