I love that Rockstar does these kinds of loosely scripted things. I saw that guy too.

I'm all for making changes. I haven't really done any calculations, and don't know the expected duration of anything. It's still early, so if we can all agree on a speedier setup, I say we do it. What do you other people think?

It's weird, I'm getting the same feeling I did with GTA IV, of slowly becoming more familiar with the environment. I love how the story gradually takes you further and further away from the start, but crosses over known territory so much you start to unconsciously recognise small details in the terrain. In Liberty City there are buildings and signs and all kinds of stuff to go by, but they're doing the same here, only with elevation, rocks and cacti. So, even though the environments outside the town (I'm still riding around Armadillo, the starting town) have very few obvious landmarks I keep identifying distinct places and areas in my mind. It's very impressive. The trade-off between following roads and paths for speed, and going directly towards your goal seems very nicely balanced, too. I find myself using both, depending on how much I want to explore. The challenges are sweet too. It really adds very much to the feeling of variety in the game play, like in Arkham Asylum.

The problem is 90 of gamers would run through that whole thing in eight seconds saying "nice fantasy castle, fag!"

Also, I tried the stats uploader again, and the pitboss app froze. I had to reload yesterday's state, so some of you might've gone back a turn or two.

SuspectKitten, the game warns me that you have different game files than the others playing. It's not a big deal, but you should check to make sure you're all patched up.

It's weird though. I got the impression they were focusing even more on multiplayer this time around, what with the persistent characters and everything (that stuff is in there, right?) but it sounds like most if it is worse now.

You know they won't. They'll release minor fixes for a while, and then release totally awesome single player DLCs, but the multiplayer UI and all the stuff that also was shitty in GTA IV will stay the same forever in all Rockstar games for ever until the end of time.

This is pretty stupid. If there is one thing I was completely certain of, it would be that they would be so much aware of all their UI failings with GTA IV that the multiplayer UI for RDR would be flawless. Now, I won't be surprised if they release DLC packages that replace multiplayer modes instead of adding them, and have the same bullshit problems with reloading the entire game if you drop out.

Actually, to set a registration password I have to select which leader (Napoleon, Pacal II, etc.) you're playing (from a list of names without pictures). Could you all let me know which one you picked, and I'll set a password.

Actually I turned it off, since it was consuming CPU cycles like crazy. Do you know if it has to be turned on all the time to be useful, or if I can just run it once a day?
