Just got the DVD in the mail and watched the commentary stuff. This is what the MI2: SE commentary should've been like. One thing though, the sound quality is horrible. The volume difference between the various people is huge and there's a lot of noise and distortion. Hopefully TellTale'll get a couple of sweet mics for the next DVD, because the commentary was funny and interesting.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 11: Diplomatic Pouch
toblix replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Although I'm guessing Chris is off to work for another company that doesn't directly make games (pulled out of my ass, but based on my impression of him as a news article editoral opinion writing guy), it would be awesome if he started working somewhere where he could make a game not have any of the shit he's so fucking tired of in games, like Chris Remo's Ass3ssin's Creed – a reboot of the popular franchise with only one little town packed to the moats with exciting systemic content that makes awesome anecdotes emerge. -
Hey, you don't need energy, you just need to like playing a fun game and having a good time.

Rumor is Chris is heading off to team up with Dan Houser and write the script for the next GTA, 5TA, which is taking place in Hollywood. -
Is this just so that people will have low pings when competing or is there something else I'm missing?
-
Yeah, I'm probably getting this, since it reminds me of Beneath a Steel Sky.

If you're like me and like puzzles that rely on systematic reasoning for the purposes of filling a grid with numbers, which upon completion rewards you with a new and harder puzzle, I can heartily recommend this game. It's like Sudoku only instead of each 3x3 having to contain each number, the grid is divided into parts of various shapes where, for example: The product of each number is X The largest number minus the smallest one is X Each number is an even one And some of the squares are linked by < and > signs that indicate which should be larger than the other, and in some puzzles you have to find out where the borders go between the various parts, and in some there are two different puzzles with the same solution and you have to jump between them to solve it! Sounds fun?

Installing (a) monitor(s) is the easiest solution by far, even though it's easily manipulated, so no good in court.

You really should beat it. It's not that long, and the ending is magnificent.

There's a difference between saving the full game state and just jotting down your inventory and health as you pass a checkpoint though. I was sure they did the latter in Metro 2033, but from your story it sounds like they saved everything. In that case, saving when quitting should be trivial. For what it's worth, I never had an issue with the checkpoint system. Could just be me being an awesome gamer.
