Yeah, and it didn't help that the t-shirt made me have to pay an import toll for the whole shipment, with added fees, etc. Still, I'd argue it's still worth it. It really is a fine product. The subscription is only four issues, though I hope that's just the initial run, not the whole thing.

Anyone blown away by the announcement on Monday? I'm getting one, although the choice of an iPhone over an Android isn't as clear-cut as it was a year ago. The points that tips it in Apple's favor are the incredible industrial design of the thing and the app store. Although the app count in the Android market is growing rapidly, last time I checked the level of polish was nowhere near what I'm used to on the iPhone. I'm also looking forward to seeing the new screen and playing with the gyro.

I don't know if anyone was thinking about getting Wadjet Eye's latest adventure game, Puzzle Bots. "Puzzle Bots is a light-hearted adventure game guaranteed to put a smile on your face. It’s got quirky characters, laugh-out-loud dialog, and brain-tickling puzzles". Also, it's shit, no fun and too short. After the Blackwell games this was a huge disappointment, although that's because it was really designed by Ron Gilbert's wife or something. Everything about it, the graphics, the dialogue, the voice work, the puzzles, the story... everything just sucks. edit: Oh, and: Pros: It's cheap

The QfG games are caked in thick, crusty layers of my nostalgia.

Just saw Four Lions, and didn't much like it. It's like there were two different films in there, and they were both great, but sort of crassly cut together.

I don't know which brands to avoid, but I've been very happy with all the NEC monitors I've been in contact with. As for widescreen, my impression is you'll have to be Indiana Jones to dig up a 4:3 monitor at this point.

About the two-weapon system, George Broussard sez: Has anyone been this honest about dumbing down a game for consoles before?

Holy crap, the is incredible!

Just started up the last game, and fiddling with the graphics setting, I noticed these two things: I don't know if they've been in all the S03 games or just this, but they're the most ridiculous GUI elements I've ever seen, possible. Jake, what the hell?

What? I was looking forward to play this on my PC this weekend! So, are they never going to release it, or just later?

Is anybody a sad human like me, and have not played any LucasArts adventure games?

Yeah, it blew me the hell away – also, that it supports the "multitasking" so well is incredible. I found the controls surprisingly good.

But if the character will be all covered up, why make it a woman in the first place?

Also, they did the horrible, stupid thing that everyone does and went 3D. The last two sequels, both 3D, gained absolutely nothing from the extra dimension, but lost so much of what made the two first ones so great. I wonder if it they did it because they felt it was a good choice, if they felt they had to in order to get a publishing deal, or if it's cheaper to do the 3D assets than the fucking beautiful, slick 2D graphics from BS1 & 2. -

Finally someone can express why Revolution's games are fantastic in meaningful terms. Thanks, Thunder! Also, I'll have to get home and buy all these new special editions! I though they were mobile exclusive, and bought them on the iPhone, but I'd much rather want to play them on the big screen. -
Just did a couple of rounds with Doc and Illeria, and discovered two new weapons. One was a flamethrower we unfortunately didn't get to see in action, and the other was a special weapon where your worm appears to fall from a crane and die, but in reality he's alive – with 26 health!

Have you tried uninstalling the game, uninstalling Steam, deleting the Program Files folder, formatting the drive, reinstalling Windows, swapping the hard disk, swapping the motherboard, graphics card, cpu and ram and replacing everything, registering a new Steam account, changing your name, changing your gender or moving to a different country?

Grippage should've posted this here, but I'll do it for him: http://vimeo.com/13177086 It's not YouTube, but hey.

Yeah, I heard about the missing trains (and some other missing stuff) in the forums, searching for a way to disable the horrible game-destroying GPS trail, and it seems they've been cutting a bunch of stuff that was mentioned in interviews and even shown in trailers. I'm a bit surprised to hear this, because the little I played of the game seemed incredibly polished. Some people are talking about 2K holding stuff back for DLC, but I doubt they'll release the Mafia II Train Pak anytime soon.

Oh Jesus, that's perfect. Now I want Deus Ex 3 even more! -
Well, seeing as they've already patched it once, I'm at least hopeful they'll be releasing updates rather frequently.
-
In the case of Worms Reloaded, though, it's obvious they spent as little time as possible on the UI, even to UI laymen.

This is ridiculous! There's no way of turning the GPS off! They even have the guy give me directions as he's talking – "make a right over there," etc. – and then they won't let me turn off the stupid guideline that makes everything awful. How hard can it be to make this an option? I'm not playing this any more until they patch that shit in.
