So I'm making a mine, and I've got a nice cache of rock, dirt, wood and various simple tools. However, as I'm digging my way around I'm uncovering other caves, and there are sounds. It's freaking me out. I guess I should start worrying about weapons and armor, but so far I haven't gotten anything resembling metal. I'm also afraid a monster will find its way into my cave – can they open doors?

Civilization IV: Shut the Hell Up, Montezuma
toblix replied to HPopper's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I'm getting it, and I'm definitely up for trying out "real" multiplayer. -
What the hell is up with the crafting system? Why are there patterns you have to remember?

Okay, I just bought this so PayPal could get some more reserve. There are two different versions, and I can play it in my browser or offline? I don't get this – is this a multiplayer game?

Idle Thumbs 51: Burnin' Down the Wolfman [Now with Video!]
toblix replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
While it obviously varies from person to person, I'd totally recommend being awake for it. Both my lower wisdom teeth were of the "break it in four and pull out the shards" variety, and the feeling of so much mechanical force being applied inside your head is totally unreal and awesome. -
Idle Thumbs 51: Burnin' Down the Wolfman [Now with Video!]

Which one(s)? -
Anyone know if the original guys had anything to do with the remakes, or if it's just some laborers sitting in a room finding higher-resolution textures for everything? If the game is treated with as little class as the cover seems to be this looks like just a cash-in.

Someone made a prank version of the trailer: NPpCKjFrXzE

God damn it, not only did I miss last week's race – I won't make it tonight either.

Just as a note: I sent Armchair £650 to build me a new computer, and I haven't heard from him since. This was over a year ago. I know PiratePoo has had a similar experience with him. I'm not saying you shouldn't trust him, but keep at least half of the money until you actually see the goods.

I would recommend an ATI graphics card if you want FREE Lord of the Rings Online™ Trial with your graphics drivers.

INSIDE MR. STALLONE'S OFFICE. MR. STALLONE IS WORKING ON HIS NEW PROJECT, A FILM WITH AN ALL-STAR CAST CONSISTING OF ALMOST ALL THE STARS OF 80s ACTION MOVIES. A MAN COMES IN. THE MAN HAS A GREAT IDEA. MAN Mr. Stallone, I hear you're gathering all the 80s action movie guys for a new action movie. I thought maybe instead of wasting everybody's time with just another mediocre action movie you could do something interesting with the genre, for example-- MR. STALLONE Idea Denied.

Idle Thumbs 51: Burnin' Down the Wolfman [Now with Video!]

The video of this is coming any day now, right? -
After hearing about it on the cast, I thought maybe if enough people want to, we could try it together. I joined the IdleThumbs room, but currently it's a bit lonely: Anyone want to agree on a time for a bunch of us to try this? It's super easy to join and runs on Flash in the browser.

I've got such a raging Myst-hardon for this game it's unbelieveable. It's about time someone made another beautiful island full of mystery and puzzles, where nothing is explained to you.

What's this, some fantastic game I've never heard about?

I found a bit of the fun of DN multiplayer was that, although the weapons were ridiculous, the action took place in mostly realistic contemporary urban locations created with a high level of detail, and there's something about setting up an intricate trap in the bathroom of a seedy strip club, and then hearing it work just through the sound of footsteps and explosions. I might be remembering this wrong, though.

(I was sure there was already a thread about this, but I couldn't find it) Anyone else get this? It's been a long time since I read video game magazines, so I don't know most of them are today, but Kill Screen is great. The article about the air traffic AI guy was very interesting.

You're an embarrassment to the computer display community.
