The auto-tuning really destroys Glee for me. That, and the kerning.
  2. Thumb Association

    Speak for yourself!
  3. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Excellent, another game I've never heard about until it's released and that's apparently quite good.
  4. Keyboard

So I have had this lame old Logitech keyboard for ages – it's so old it has a dedicated shopping button – and I wanted to get a new one, one that has the superior new layout I believe Logitech introduced, with the big delete button. I ordered the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard, because I have that at work and love it, but on the same day I got it in the mail(today) I discovered it's useless for gaming. The key combination W+Shift+Space – jumping while running – does not work on this keyboard. So I investigate, and now I'm thrown into this crazy world of keyboard nerdery, discussions about rubber-dome/mechanical/cherry brown/ghosting/blocking/N-key rollover old IBM M-series scissor action HELL. No matter what I choose at this point it'll be horrible SHIT. It basically comes down to keyboard manufacturers saving a small amount per keyboard by reading keystrokes on an old fashioned matrix, which works fine for CASUAL GAMERS but sucks when you're bordering A THOUSAND APS pumping out 7 rax in SC2. This means I'm stuck with my old keyboard, waiting for Logitech (or someone) to produce a keyboard with the layout I want, but that also lets me jump and run. I considered, briefly, the G19, but then decided I'd rather die than have a keyboard that required a separate PSU.
  5. Minecraft

    Reminds me of this.
  6. Civilization 5

This is the sort of awesome thing the internet has sort of broken, as there's no way I'll discover a totally awesome secret unit without having read a thousand blog posts and Kotaku headlines about it hours after they patched it in.
  7. Keyboard

Good point. I'm not completely sold on the clackity-clack of the mechanical keyboard, though. It makes me think every time I play a game the keyboard will sound like the set of Mad Men.
  8. Keyboard

Jesus, apparently Razer decided it was a good idea to combine the F-keys and the media keys, so that to press play/pause means holding down Alt and pressing F7 or something. If only the Logitech Illuminated didn't have the blocking issue, I'd be such a happy man right now.
  9. Keyboard

I'd actually rather get a Razer keyboard than the G15, but they all have that useless old key layout that I've gotten unused to. Maybe I should just revert to the old layout, as that seems to give me more flexibility. I hate change.
  10. Half Life 2: Episode 3

You forgot to open your tag.
  11. Minecraft

Wait, are there actually actuators in the game? I thought only doors and lights could be wired up.
  12. Movie/TV recommendations

At some point, probably. I'm not really a big fan of Norwegian film.

I assume you watched it in HD, at least? I thought it was fantastic.
  15. Dead Rising 2

Friendly fire is OK, but when the exact target of your violence is determined by the game, it should never choose a friend over an enemy. That's what I'm saying. If I had fired a shotgun blast or a nuclear bomb I would accept that she was hurt, but my guy was stabbing her in the face with a spear.
  16. Dead Rising 2

I don't even know what a drill bucket is. When I was escorting the pharmacy lady, she got crowded by zombie men, and I ran over there with my maintenance spear and started clicking. My guy took out a couple of zombies first, but then stabbed the lady! Why would he stab the lady? Why doesn't the AI code remove friendly people from the collection of potential stabbing targets? It's an honest mistake, but it's not like events had to conspire to reveal this bug. To reproduce, attack zombies when you're with friends. This leads me to believe they never played their own game. Which is strange because the game seems fine except for this.
  17. Dead Rising 2

Jesus Christ, the developers made the mistake of not playing their own game before releasing it. If they had, they would've discovered the bug that makes the guy attack the fucking people he's escorting. DEVELOPERS: YOUR GAME IS CURRENTLY SHIT.
  18. Civilization 5

If you consider the history of the human race, and think about everything that has happened since the moment we came down from the trees and wiped the banana from our faces, maths really hasn't been that important. It's mainly used for theoretical (i.e. not really useful) research on atoms and stuff like that. Maybe maths will be more important in the future – who knows?! – but I think they got it right.
  19. Dead Rising 2

Has anyone seen a list of differences between the PC and Xbox 360 versions?
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

Just saw Human Centipede, and it was, not surprisingly, terrible. Just awful. Bad.
  21. House of Leaves

Finished House of Leaves yesterday. What a piece of crap. It started out well, but just fizzled out into nothing with too much bullshit diagonal text and crazy nested footnotes. Tonight I'm starting on The Walking Dead, which is the biggest, hugest piece of comic I've ever seen.
  22. Civilization 5

I get this too (maybe not 40 seconds, though,) and I wouldn't be surprised if it's supposed to be like that.
  23. Community/Indie games

Well, one thing that sucks is that it doesn't have Game Center support.
  24. Minecraft

Aand I'm burned out on Minecraft. See you all in a year!
  25. Broken Sword: Director's Cut

There's a death scene they took out. Could it be at the hospital, or was that BS2?
