It sounds like the two expected types of problems with the beta are compatibility stuff (though they've used an external tester for that) and localization stuff.

What, Sunday?

I tried poking at the save files, to see if I could find somewhere to start digging, but nothing stood out. Anyone with super file analytics skillz wanna have a go? My assumption going in was that since the decisions are explicitly displayed in the game (if you have the notifications enabled) and the game can automatically generate them for you, they may be stored in such a way that they could be changed by some sweet coding tricks.

More like Portal 3 confirmed. More like Snore-tal 3. I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Well shit. I was finally going go play 400 Days, and discovered my saves have completely vanished. And then I discover that there is no save game editor or decision generator, and TWD2 also uses those saves, and now I'm super-bummed.

But you'd like it to be made out of black brushed aluminum with a pulsating blue LED tribal icon on it and a couple of ugly USB3 ports in the front?

I'm assuming nobody's doing the low-end streaming («steaming»?) boxes because the streaming isn't really there yet?

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
toblix replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
Sure, it's painful to watch for that reason. Still, I think it's fair to poke a little fun, considering his body of work and the presentation he was about to make. -
That's very nice. Is it a metroid?

Cara Ellison is doing a thing here, which you can support on this kickstarterlike. Apparently you pledge an amount per article, like a subscription, and you can cancel at any time (and also set a monthly limit, if you're into that kind of stuff.)

I don't understand it, but I like it!

«I thought it would suck to just throw it away and I'll give it to a colleague who still uses it.» – Erkki's brain

Don't do the thing where you reward yourself with a cigarette. It's scary how hard and well an addicted brain will work against you – constanlty presenting reasonable-sounding ideas to get you back on the habit. «I've made it a whole day/week/year – I'll celebrate with just one» or «I feel confident I've kicked the addiction, but let's just double-check by doing just one» etc. It's like omg brain you're supposed to be on my side!

The "what the crap was that game called again?" thread

Sounds interesting! I think maybe I kickstarted this ... The trailer shows what looks like single player game play, but a menu for selecting the number of players – does it have both modes, or what?
-
That looks pretty neat, and obviouslyt it's pretty great since everyone's been talking about it for ages, but I'm still not sure what the «hook» is – does it have really interesting controls, or what?

What just happened? Edit: I looked up «sock puppeting» and now I'm even more confused. -

This whole disaster just strengthens my belief that big catch-all threads are terrible and no threads should have more than maybe a hundred posts. -

Every time someone needs a thread for this, they can't find the old ones because they all have weird names. -
I found a keyboard! My point was that while you could certainly sum up the plot of Brothers in a couple of pages, that wouldn't include any of the truly good parts of that game, such as the visual design and the whole clever thing with the controls.

I disagree with extreme power but I'm on my phone so.

It's on! Apparently it's all about trading cards now, I guess. It feels like Valve may, with these trading cards, finally have devised a system too complex for me to immediately understand and thus care about. Do I buy all these games? I can get them when I spend money, maybe? Whatever.
