  1. Actually, the data is stored magnetically, so he'd need a loupe.
  2. Maybe not surprisingly, I was a bit disappointed by the trailer. It starts of well, in a way; really, really getting my attention by showing a dead child, and for some reason I instantly feel the trailer has to justify this. I feel the motif (or whatever it's called) is so powerful and unwieldy the whole thing can either be very powerful or very tasteless. Then it goes into the more commonplace decapitation axe massacre thing and fails (in my opinion(!)). Kudos for being more interesting than most trailers of any genre, though.
  3. BBCode Tags

    There's this.
  4. Tabletop RPGs

Do you mean online or off? I might be interested, maybe. I've played some D&D and it was awesome.
  5. Buying a New PC

It's super useful – and not a crazy thing – to be able to have 3dsmax, Photoshop and Sonar running, and still be able to launch any game without having to close down everything else, effectively trying to disable multitasking in order to turn your computer into a dedicated gaming console. Now, the fact that you find it acceptable to have to spend 10 minutes preparing to play a game, that's crazy!
  6. Anyone know if the EU bundle comes with a larger living room?
  7. Buying a New PC

Unless they're horribly programmed, there shouldn't be any problems.
  8. Buying a New PC

The applications address whatever they need. You're right in saying most applications won't use 8GB, but if you're running more than one application at a time – and I know I am! – it adds up. As I said, you'll get by with 4GB, but it's not hugely difficult to hit that limit if you're running, say, a bloated web browser with a couple of open tabs and a little flash, maybe Photoshop or whatever, maybe a media player, etc., and then you want to fire up a game on top of that... True, but if you're buying a new computer right now, it's 64bit all the way unless you need to run some seriously weird old hardware. All CPUs, motherboards, graphics and sound cards etc that are sold today have 64bit drivers. Also, there shouldn't be any issue with running older stuff on a 64 bit OS, and if you do get issues you can just fire up a 32bit virtual box.
  9. Magicka: The Wizards Thumb

Will there be room for amateurs in this, or is it for hard-core magickians only?
  10. Buying a New PC

Erkki, you need a very good reason for not running 64bit today. It's practically the standard. I'd say 4GB is the minimum amount of RAM you'd want, but I'd get 8GB if possible.
  11. Open Outcast

    Outcast was so fucking great.
  12. This looks awesome. It may be a horrible game, but I'm totally in love with the visuals and sounds.
  13. Totems

So, 10tacle studio is making a game called Totems. Not interested? Me neither, until I heard it's from the guys at Appeal. Not following me? Appeal made the fucking awesome game Outcast back in the day. Now you get it!
  14. Formula Thumb, The Return.

    Wednesdays, no?
  15. Crysis 2: Oh Shit.

Why? Shooters haven't become stagnant like adventure games became. Every year there are huge innovations and game-changers like health regeneration, cover systems and ultra-slow motion execution sequences, and now with the revolutionizing motion control technologies coming out there's no telling what they'll come up with next!
  16. Stacking

Yeah, you can return like, whenever.
  17. Buying a New PC

If you hate having AMD shit all over your face when manually installing drivers, you should avoid Radeon. The Steam update thing is pretty cool.
  18. Red Dead Redemption

So what's the verdict on Undead Nightmare, now that everyone has had a chance to give it a go, is it as worthy an addition to RDR as TLaD and BoGT were to GTAIV?
  19. The Last Express

Just finished this. What a fantastic game, so ahead of its time. For anyone who haven't played this yet, you really should do so now, if only to experience the first hour or so.
  20. Fallout 3

What?! Why would you feel like a failure? I don't love the game, either, and I'm people.
  21. Christopher V. Flett - time to grow up

Oh, you should definitely see Magnolia.
  22. Christmas Cards

I just browsed through some old cards, and found a bunch of old Christmas cards from way back when I had annual Christmas card extravaganzas. I even found the card I got from Troika, which is the closest to game development I've ever been, I think. Anyway, I miss having stuff to do around Christmas, and want to resume that once great tradition. It's easy: You'll have to give me your address and what (if anything) you want me to draw. What you'll get: A beautiful Christmas card, hopefully in time for Christmas. Also, I'll give you my address, so as to maintain the balance of threat. What you'll not get: Anthrax or someone coming into your home at night. I know some of you have given me your addresses in the past and lived to tell about it, and everybody loves Christmas cards, right? PM me your address and request if you dare!

    Wrestlevania!
  25. I don't know which thread was the worst before, but this thread is now the worst. Glad to hear you're happy, Tanu.
