Giant Bomb Live! — Idle Thumbs Reunion!
toblix replied to mikemariano's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Maybe they filmed it and will release a video! -
You have tried picking out the hardened plug of lint that is no doubt lodged in there, right?

These things won't go as slowly forever, though. It's less like moving through a thick gel and more like slowly pulling ones leg free of the thick mud of not giving a shit about standards. Though there'll always be the crusty old enterprise apps that will only work on IE6, but now that most developers actually know and care about standards, and most browsers are also approaching standards, things'll go a lot smoother in the future. I HOPE.

Just wanted to bump this thread to point out that this is one awesome game. I've spent hours running around everywhere, opening all the stores, burning towers and doing the occasional story quest. I just did the first of Leonardo's quests, and I'm getting the feeling I've been doing way more entrepreneurial stuff than is needed. I've opened every store I can reach, money is pouring in, and from what I can gather there's still lots more story left. The assassin training mechanic is fabulous. The fact that you can buy maps for all the collectibles is marvellous. Killing men is sweet. It's incredible how they managed to polish the huge turd that was Assassin's Creed, and make it shine brighter than the devil's armpits on the 4th of July. One thing – in one of the conversations with one of the three people in the hideout something was said about the translation. Something about Italian being all right, but French and German being terrible. It almost seemed like a reference to the localization, but I didn't quite get it. Did anyone play it with another language? Maybe they switch the languages around to make fun of the other localization languages or something ANYWAY this game is fucking awesome.

I guess this was pretty good game considering it was mainly done by one guy, but it's weird that this game has gotten so much hype, and sold more than all the other Wadjet eye games combined (I think I remember reading). I kept waiting for it to turn the tables on me and play with my preconceived notions of adventure gaming, but then the credits rolled by and apparently, that was it. If you're going to buy something from Ron Gilbert's store, any of the Blackwell games are much better.

Back when you and that asshole doctor guy were all "ooh we should play arma2 or whatever buy it toblix buy it"
-
I was told to buy Arma2, and then I did and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SINCE.

That looks interesting... what sort of a game is it? Looks like a MMO beat-em-up or something.
-
I'd attend if I could.

Won't this be the thread where you discuss the film and recall the fun things you did after?

Just to add a negative counterweight, so far this has been bit of a disappointment for me. Though I love the graphics and mood of the game, the game-play so far has been okay at best, with some weirdly tacked-on mechanics like the keyboard controlled crate sliding thing, way too much time spent walking through corridors and taking elevators up and down, wondering what to do next, and that weird thing where double-clicking repeats the last verb – who has ever wanted this in an adventure game? The combat stuff is okay. I'm still looking forward to completing the game, seeing if everything comes together in an awesome manner.

Sorry for being unclear. Obviously they wouldn't want to take the wind out of LAN's (I just coined that initialism) promotional sails, but with release closing in, they're bound to start preparing their promotional strategy for whatever's next. Now, that could well be the next GTA, couldn't it? Wouldn't it make sense for them to mention their next project some time this year? edit: Also, didn't they sort of announce LAN before they were done with TLaD and BoGT?

The Bethesda Podcast, featuring Nick Breckon

Not anymore. These days they open the game editor (like UDK or Unity) and then in the File menu, they select the New Game... item. This presents a New Game wizard that lets them fill out the basic parameters like number of weapons, max health, etc. From there, though, you'll need to know some programming to fill out the rest like level design etc. -
This isn't one of those things where you have file extensions hidden in Explorer, and the file is really called hentaimegapack.torrent.html or something, is it?

Nobody killed Hudson, Jenkins is just a fork. It remains to be seen how well Hudson fares in the future, though. -
You should list all your components, and then someone should make a judgement call as to whether they think 650W is enough jiggawatts.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see all the and that all the locations and dolls were now . I think people who haven't finished it 100% yet should do so now, as I think they'll be preeeetty . If you think about it, it all makes sense too, as it was always known the game would have a .

I'd wager more on the PSU giving out than overheating, but that's just me.

How much of an amateur can one be and still be able to participate without breaking the game for everyone else? I've only played one campaign, Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, using, I believe, v3.5. We never finished it, but I think we were about half-way in.

Can someone help me identify this strange hard drive?
toblix replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Idle Banter
Tanu, With regards to thieves stealing your identity, you should be fine. Unless you're a high-profile guy with bodyguards, etc. the odds of ID thieves taking the time to reassemble the disk in order to retrieve what will probably turn out to be hundreds of save games from JRPGs are very, very small. If you just throw it in the garbage (i.e. not computer parts recycling), you'll not only damage the environment, but also lower those odds even further. Seriously, don't worry about it. -
Well, this was a great game. I've only played the story mode, so I don't know about the creation stuff, but I prefer LBP1's story mode to the sequel's. They added cut-scenes, more fleshed-out characters and a bunch of levels showing off their "not just a platformer" stuff, but none of this comes close to the greatness of the LBP1 story mode levels. Anyone else play it through? What did you think?

It's starting to seem like Telltale's new strategy is having each employee making his or her own game. Either that, or they're outsourcing a lot of work. Or they've hired a bunch of people. Or maybe they're just working smarter instead of harder. Anyway, I hope they find the time to fix all the annoying stuff that's been plaguing their engine since Bone. Oh, and if this piece of news turns out to be true, that could be cool.
