So we are on NTL broadband and they are poo, my connection goes down regularly, the only time I see anything remotely near the 8mb I pay for is at 4 in the morning and the connection becomes sluggish as hell when all the kids come home from school and on weekends. So I want to change provider, can anyone make any recommendations, I had BT ADSL 5 years ago and found that to be really good and I'm considering going back to them now.

I was just playing madden (shh I like it), my opponents scored a touchdown on me, but as the player was running the ball in he decided to celebrate by goose stepping and giving a nazi salute

Doesn't he say the dog is one of the ways the minimap has been replaced? So u could probably get away with being a cunt to your dog. I’m glad there is a game where the love between a man and his dog can be truly and freely expressed ¬¬

Me thinks Dan is using Molyneux as a proxy in his war against Yufster, as she suggested (read relentlessly nagged) that he should get a job. Guys its time for the feuding and the fussing to end. Have a fight, Yufster gets a bat and a midget as Dan is a retired half Ninja.

I get the Miyamoto comparison, but he goes about it with a bit more class, whereas Molyneux does it at the expense of the game he is working on. I think by putting so much into showing how his latest game relates to the current thing he is gassing about, in this case by showing lots of the characteristics and little nuances the dog has, he takes away from the experience of playing the game, those features add little to most peoples’ desire to play the main game but they are the sort of features that add the icing to the game, and should be left for the player to discover. A good analogy is how in star wars episode one everyone knew Darth Maul had a double ended lightsaber before the film came out, but in the film it is clear that when it is divulged that Darth Maul has a double ended LS it is meant to be shocking, yet that was completely spoiled, when those little touches are taken away from a game/movie by excess hype it can really reduce the overall charm. I know it is an inherent danger of following hype but if something is well marketed it should drum up the desire without taking away from the experience itself, but Molyneux doesn't achieve this, he leaves many feeling cheated by over promising features and over selling little features that give the game charm. I think he does a lot of good for the industry as a whole but often at the expense of projects he works on.

It's like calling your child Damien.

If they can create a bond similar to that between you and your horse (who I’m still convinced is called adolf) in Shadow of the Colossus (which was under emphasised but ever so strong) then this would be a wicked feature in the game. But I fear Moly will be so please with his dog that he couldn't leave the relationship understated and would make it too in your face, I know he talks about not aggravating the player, but I don't trust he has the emotional wisedom not to. Given his control freak nature and the way he often misses the mark when he tries to introduce emotions in games I wouldn't be surprised if he had Asperger syndrome and his game design was the way he tries to take control of the chaotic world of emotion that he just doesn't understand.

I get ginger immunity, but Thrik is being out of order

I could never play a game with such a rubbish (read gay but I'm trying to be PC these days) name, it sounds far too much like Excite Cock.

Me thinks he got a major spanking.

The general British person is the scum of the earth, there are some really good British people (pretty much all of which life in Brighton ¬¬,) but the average British person is a hideous mishmash of selfishness, stupidity, aggressiveness and coming bottom of every European league table regarding quality of life.

That's the beginning of the end.

I was looking at the games available for the 360 and it just struck me as being exactly the same as the PS2 western games without any of the Japanese ingenuity (which were the best PS2 games imo). If I'm going to play a 3rd or 1st person shooter I want to do it on my PC, racing games are a bit meh and there doesn't seem to be much else (Viva piñata looks good but is not my bag baby). Yet loads of people I know are planning to get one, I just can't see the reason in doing so, I've probably been unfair and jumped to conclusions but it seems a very plain software line up to me.

It could just be that the whoever made the video had no idea what they were doing, it mind boggling how bad some game trailers can be, I agree with you, from the evidence of that trailer the game looks tiresome and exactly the same as everything out there (almost as if it is actively trying to be as similar to everything out there as possible).
-
Don't underestimate the ability of a British mob to jump conclusions without any knowledge of the actual facts, the title itself will probably be enough to rouse the shouts of condemnation from some groups. The Funniest example of this that I can think of is when a violent anti-paedophile group, roused by the British tabloids, destroyed the office of a paediatrician (for whom there was no accusation that he fiddled with the kiddies). Presumably they read the sign outside office and assumed he was such a brazen kiddie fiddler he was willing to advertise the fact. You have to love the average British person. But it seems like a game that could be really good fun for the DS, and probably won't get an European release.

I see the PC as the online multiplayer machine. Do most of the 3rd person/1st person games have co-op modes? As I feel co-op is the only thing neglected in PC multiplayer. I agree if u want to have a deathmatch with friends console is a convenient method, but I'd much prefer to go to the effort of having a LAN and doing it properly than using a controller to aim.

I can not be offended, the only way u could upset me would be by breaking my confidence, I've already thought of and berated myself with everything that could be said about me and it is good to turn those things into humour.

In every Madden game I've played there has been an ask Madden option for which play to select, it is not always right but will get a beginner through the game.

Reading the press hype for the show made me think the same, but I agree with miffy this is not coming from the conference, whose format seems largely hte same.

That is clearly bulshit the person writing it doesn't know shit, hardcore is in the heart not a bunch of boxes that needed to be ticked.

In answer to your question, no ginger is not ruining your life, u have a good life, and are lucky enough to count me as one of your friends.
-
Plus I never told u to do that, I stopped myself and when I said I'm not going to say it you listed all the worst thigns u thought I could have said and picked one. It was nothing to do with me.

I'm no where near as good at it as I use to be, now days when I'm going to say something really harsh a little voice pops up in my head and tells me that would be nasty, so I usually don't say it. Is this what it is to get older. god damn the growing influence of my frontal lobe.

Why the fuck do they waste money on such shit research A survey has to be the lowest form of research imaginable, the questions tend to be limited and leading and usually formed to make the outcome inevitable. I couldn't find the actual paper (I didn't look hard) but it is most likely shit. Fuck people being allowed to do bad statistical studies and publish the results, it does my head in; they bias public opinion with their totally spurious assertions and models.
