I just visited Gamespot.com and looked at 10 most popular PC RPGs. 8 of them were MMORPGs. W T F 1 City of Heroes 2 The Matrix Online 3 World of Warcraft 4 Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed 5 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 6 Guild Wars 7 Dungeon Siege II 8 Dark Age of Camelot 9 Final Fantasy XI Chains of Promathia 10 EverQuest II which makes me believe that... gamespot visitors love mmorpgs OR nobody's making good single-player rpgs

Yeah the last good single player rpg I played was KOTOR, and that was like what, almost a year ago? It's sad really They're harder to come by than adventures, methinks.

I like Chrono Trigger. I thought it was as open ended as a console rpg could get. The graphics are the best of the lot, and the story... I don't remember the story. still my favourite console rpg (aside from KOTOR). of course pc rpgs are way more mature. Final Fantasy 6 was great too, although i only beat 1/3rd of the game. Other SNES RPGs sucked.

I pitched a similar idea to a co-worker programmer who was thinking of designing a mmo game (not necessarily rpg). the premise of the game would be in medival times, where the Coke guild and Pepsi guild are engaged in an eternal struggle for supremacy. I thought it was a neat idea, but he didn't think it'd sell.

The original felt too linear and structured. that didn't set well with it's vast open game world. I'm sure you read something like that from all the reviews. I hope they change that for the sequel. and they need to introduce some kind of economic model so beating up people and stealing cars (and selling them) have rewards. hhahahaha

do they show the intro part and then the dune buggy ride? because I've seen shakycam version of them already and I don't wanna waste my limited bandwidth.
