chicken noodle soup, but after reading Food Revolution I've bowed never to touch chicken again

original NOLF is probably my favourite FPS of all time. NOLF2 was much a disappointment. It's better than the original in almost every aspect, except that it has enemy respawning!!!! The idea is to prevent players from killing off all enemies in the level and left wandering around in a large, empty, boring level until they find their objective. So instead of searching for the mission objective in an emtpy level, you get to search for the mission objective all the while you kill off (or sneak around) infinite supply of enemy soldiers. And supposdly that makes the game more exciting. WTF I hate respawning enemies. I find them immensely insulting.

How about this? It's simple, recognizable, looks like an "L" and if you squint your eyes and blur your vision just right, it sort of looks like "LW"

heh heh yeah, what's up with him wearing tap shoes?? I must've yelled "take off your goddamned shoes!!!" at the screen a thousand times.

I played the deluxe version a bit when it was released as a freeware last year. It's a stealthy squad based tactical shooter. It's my kind of game, and it would've been one of my favourite game of all time, except the AI ruined it. I couldn't play through more than 4 missions because I couldn't stand the horrible horrible AI. What's wrong with its AI? For one, it can aim remarkably well. It can spot you in the dark even when the player can't see the enemy. AND (get this) it can see beyond the game engine's draw distance. and still aim remarkably well. stupid.

It won't let you reinstall? that's interesting. I've found some programs that just doesn't install twice. Microsoft embedded device development tools for example. For some reason once I uninstall it from a computer, the next time I run setup the program crashes. Something in the registry, I'd bet. I finished playing the demo yesterday. I enjoyed it quite a bit, although I discovered a lot more bugs on the way. For example, the number of grenade I have is always displayed wrong (5/5, even if I have none), the pathfinding is adequate, but sometimes they get stuck around the obstacles. Teammates would sometimes waste an entire round of bullets against brick walls. "Follow" command is very buggy and sometimes make teammates to wander off somewhere very distant. "Close door" command sometimes doesn't work, and makes the teammates get stuck on the door frames. And half the times, the teammates would be facing the opposite direction of where the action is and get shot in the back. etc. If they want our money, they really shouldn't release a buggy demo. BUT whatever, it's still a fun game.

Do you really need a complete engine to begin designing gameplay?

And let's not forget that most middleware are very customizable with lots of parameters. No two application need be the same. For example DeusEx2 and HalfLife2 both use Havok physics engine, but objects in DeusEx2 are massless and throw like they're made of sponge, while those in HL2 (from what I've seen in the videos) seem much more solid and dynamic. -
I've been playing the single player demo for the past two days. I'm appalled by its poor AI. Enemies run into walls and continue running in a spot, team members show three stooges syndrome by getting stuck in the doorways. And it has numerous control issues under commands mode. Maybe the patches fixed the problems. In any case, I'll wait until it hits the bargain bins.

I'm a good craftsman but a poor artist.

Fahrenheit 9/11 would have been awesomer if only—

I like Michael Moore because he is fat and jolly like Santa Claus. -
water looked funny today weird yellow/brown stuff deposited on the bottom of the toilet bowl and kept coming back flush after flush. I just took a shower and my entire body smells like shit. Literally. This sucks.

Because the internet needs more cats.

In all seriousness, small wacoms aren't that bad either. I had tiny 5x4" Graphire1 before I got Graphire3 very recently. All my monkey island fan-art (if any of you've seen it) are created with Graphire1. I think the above banner is my first painting with Graphire3. I had some trouble adjusting to the big tablet because my hand had to move that much more.

Awesome! I'll get it then. They must've heard the fan complaints.

Nah. Let my roommates handle it. I think we get the water from the nearby lake. The lake smells funny too, and there are mutant isopods living in it.

I know nothing about what the movie talks about, except that the whole 9 11 incident has been staged to start a war and make Bush and co very very rich. I have a feeling i'm gonna enjoy this movie... -
ah, it's the plain "macintosh" models they don't make anymore. apparently the power macs and imacs still fall under "macs" my mistake.

According to Mobygames, 1999. Which is a year after MGS. And Rainbow Six. they never bothered to fix this problem. Even after numerous patches and one DELUXE edition. I'm pretty sure the sequel suffers from the same problem.

Macs or iMacs? If I recall correctly Mac lines are long discontinued. iMacs look so cool and MacOS X is based on Unix architecture. They're good for everything except gaming. If I ever become a millionaire, I'm gonna get an iMac.

About 10 years ago or so I used to define "art" as a physical marker of yourself that lasts through ages, as a proof of your existence much like your children but then it excluded some widely accepted form of art such as cooking and ice sculptures... so I redefined it as anything that embodies a piece of yourself. But that's a little too broad, so nowadays I just say "I don't know"

I still don't know how to define "art"

You should see my original concept drawing. I deemed it too violent and gritty, I had to tone it down.

I was modelling after my cat. I tried my best to make it look as realistic as possible, but everything I draw turns out cute and cuddly for some unknown reason. steven that's awesome
