wha??? I didn't find a second in Citizen Kane boring. It has cinematography and storytelling technique that are lightyears ahead of typical movies of that era. I was wowed by every shot. Titan AE is a really bad movie. But not as bad as the worst movie I've seen in my life (twice) Batman & Robin. oh yeah LXG was pretty bad too.

Oh yeah, and since you're playing it for XBox, beware of bugs!! There are quite a few, but there's this one that I remember: (without too much spoiler) At one point in the game, the members of your party will be imprisoned and you're given a choice of character to carry out the prison break. Just don't go for the stealthy route with a stealthy character because you're most likely to encounter a show stopping bug that will make it impossible to proceed. I'm sure the PC version doesn't have this bug though

Baldur's Gate is awesome, Neverwinter Nights is crappy, and KOTOR is somewhere in between. I mean you have a spaceship and the whole galaxy within your reach, but you're only allowed to travel to handful of planets, and only one city on each planet? I think I mentioned this here or some other forum before, but this makes the game world feel severely restricted. Easily the best game I've played on XBox still.

I finally got Final Fantasy X. After playing it for an hour, I'm suddenly reminded why I hate Japanese RPGs so much. what's up with main characters looking like girls, and why are they almost always blonde? and let's not forget the most commonly used lines of dialogue in Japanese RPGs: "Huh?" "Hey!"

I love the new PS2. It's so tiny so I always carry it around in my pocket. I played ICO and Katamary Damacy on it. They're both extremely short games. grrr

The greatest game I've ever played, then gave up, then played again, then gave up again. I've never seen a text adventure game with so much stuff going on in the game world. There were day/night cycle, people following their daily schedules, live news cast, fully functioning public transit, and a fantastic premise to boot. I give it 7 stars out of my 4 star rating. I took a star off because the vastness of the game world can be very disorienting.

seeing as how almost every crpg is inspired by D&D rulesets in one way or another, it's hard to imagine what crpg landscape would be like today if there were no D&D at all. As for story taking a backseat to character stats - isn't that totally up to the developer? In any case, I think D&D ruleset is very modest when it comes to character abilities, compared to other RPGs with their own rules. If geek-empowering experience is what I'm looking for, I'd be playing Diablo. "upto 99 levels?? I'm there!!!" Personally I love AD&D.

yeah the voiceovers are awful. I haven't seen any ". . ."s yet. I remember seeing tonnes of it in FF6. Maybe they're saving it for the big ending sequence. Those japaneseses sure are crazy!

I got a used cpy from EB games for 17.99. Not a bad deal. Of course I won't be able to play it until I get a PS2. Even if I had a PS2 I wouldn't have the time to play it. but I have it now and that's what really counts. I feel like I'm in the circle of elites who understand ICO's greatness.
