  1. Holy Uncanny Valley

I didn't think the tears were realistic at all. You don't see tear pooling up in her eyes before they streak down her face, so they seem to come out of nowhere...
  2. Holy Uncanny Valley

Her complete lack of ability to make an "o" shape with her mouth is totally disconcerting. If Max from the new Sam & Max trailer can, why can't her? Edit: Oh it's motion captured. I thought it was hand-animated or something. What's the big deal then?
  3. Sonic Wiildfire video (Wii)

    The visuals seem next-gen enough.
  4. Sam & Max

I'm EXCITED!! Now I don't feel like studying anymore. Excellent work telltale.
  5. possibly interesting e3 games

Oh, is that korean mmorpg? typical. I remember about 10~15 years ago I played a decent korean adventure game for once, but it's a carbon copy of Gobliiins and its sequels. aaaanyway http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3story.html?sid=6150507&pid=929360 Dark Messiah of Might and Magic!!! developed by the team behind Arx Fatalis!!!! No way in hell it could fail!
  6. Microsoft's E3 Press Conference

I have to admit though xbox 360 seems to have the best quality graphics in their demos. And that Pinata game actually makes me want to get an xbox 360.
  7. possibly interesting e3 games

"Wiki" Wow, way to avoid confusion.
  8. I like some of the changes they made in special editions, like less noticeable matte lines and colour corrections. Curses. why are they only available through the end of the year?
  9. New Spore footage + interview

It's a technological marvel, but I don't know how much I'll like it as a game. It could be one of those things that looks really good on paper, but crap once you play it, like Black & White.
  10. Futurama

I didn't care much for Jurassic Bark. One of my favourites (that hasn't been mentioned yet) is Obsoletely Fabulous. The female robot powered by a waterwheel cracks me up every time.
  11. Happiness is... $41.92

I just replaced the heatsink on my videocard and it runs below 65°C instead of the usual 90°C~100°C under maximum load. No more mr. crashies or mrs. glitches. If you have an Nvidia 6600GT (AGP) and experience strange problems, you may wanna do the same. Apparently a lot of 6600GTs don't have proper cooling.
  12. Happiness is... $41.92

Oh yeah, I tried everything, but nothing else really helped. The heatsink was cold to the touch, even when rivatuner was reporting +90°C. It's definite sign that the heatsink was not making proper contact with the GPU.
  13. half-life

I like games with dumb AI. It makes me feel super smart. Also, exploiting dumb AIs in stealth games is 99% of the fun.
  14. Lemmings PSP Music?

    They changed the music?? Fools.
  15. half-life

Opposing Force was truly something. It was one of those rare expansions that was actually better than the original game (albeit not as ground breaking). You'll definitely have to play the original first to appreciate it though. Blue Shift was... disappointing to say the least. No new environment, no new characters, no new weapons or enemies, and no memorable moments. Comparing Blue Shift to Opposing Force is like comparing Contract JACK with NOLF.
  16. Bone Part Dos

My GOD! You get the code in addition to the CD? now that's support.
  17. Anyone Remember Desperados?

I really really liked the demo, but I remembered that, like Commandos 2, it would require too much commitment, which I'm afraid of, so I didn't buy it.
  18. Why are developers held hostage by PR?

Is anyone here familiar with this show called "Electric Playground"? We see it here in Canada, and it has the lamest interviews with developers ever. They have female "journalists" who are obviously hired for sex appeal (but make no mistake, they are not sexy) and ask the stupidest questions. They know nothing about games and ask no follow-up questions. Ever. The most frequently asked questions include "Tell us about level designs" "How many weapons does this game have"
  19. Cursing in Battlestar Galactica

oh yeah, I remember seeing the pilot (or the miniseries) and the first time a character said "frak" I was trying very hard to discern what I had just heard. I thought I misheard "fuck", but then they wouldn't show that on TV... Yes, it's very distracting and in my opinion it undermines the seriousness of the show.
  20. Why are developers held hostage by PR?

I like reading interviews with, and articles written by, programmers behind the PR curtains. How they manage to solve certain problems, optimize certain algorithms, that sort of thing. That's why my favourite game-related magazine is Game Developer. edit: possibly because i'm a programmer
  21. Cars

A friend of a friend worked on this movie and according to him, it's a very good movie. Didn't gimme any details though.
  22. Korean Air Force hiring gamers?

There are always exceptions, but I wouldn't trust him outright. Having lived the latter half of my life in Canada, I don't have a lot of first-hand experience of idiocies of Korean government and Korean society, but I heard a lot of horror stories from my dad. We are an extremely volatile people whose psyche is composed of 1/3 selfishness, 1/3 peer pressure, 1/3 stupidity and 0.00001% goodwill. One of these days I'm gonna create an entire thread dedicated to the subject...
  23. Korean Air Force hiring gamers?

Korean people are evil and stupid. I know because I'm one of them. I don't know how most of them manage to breathe while they sleep. on topic: why not hire real pilots to test simulations? idiots.
  24. Revolution at GDC thread

Holy shit, that's some nice miniature model of Revolution.
  25. favorite tv shows

I don't have a TV so I miss a lot of good shows. I like Columbo. I watch (parts of) the Daily Show and Colbert Report on comedy central website.
