Yes that is probably a safe assumption

Honestly, that seems pretty rad. It's so compartmentalized, in a really visually intuitive way. Christ, $700 though. Bah. I had been thinking I really wanted one until I reached the end of the article.

Welcome, folks!

I beat ODST on Legendary this past weekend, it was really fun.

It looks like Eurogamer might have scanned some of these in from magazines...? Tacky move if so!

They're also both fairly dark-palette Unreal Engine 3 games, and both largely take place inside. They are are both structured in a fashion that is linear from a narrative perspective but which exists in an interconnected world in which the player can explore and backtrack.

Excellent game. Having completed the campaign on Legendary yesterday, I think it's my favorite Halo campaign, or possibly my favorite after Halo 1. I completely agree about how refreshing it is to not be saving the world yet again (although the game sort of veers into that territory towards the end, which I guess is inevitable). This feels to me to Halo 3 what the Half-Life 2 episodes are to Half-Life 2. It's more concentrated, more refined, less unnecessarily "epic," and more subtle. Awesome.

See, to me, that's one of the strengths of this game, that kind of interaction. What annoys me is that much more mundane interactions that should clearly work don't.

Idle Thumbs 43: Jeff "Gone" Goldblum

Dude you got every single one of our statements correctly attributed. You should win some kind of award. I've already seen somebody confuse Nick and Jake in this week's cast, and Nick wasn't even in the goddamn thing. -
Yeah, we talked about that a bit on the cast. During the "hub" sections it's all full of cheesy 80s synth and sax, but then in the flashbacks they're back to shittacular butt-rock extreme.
-
The one we used in the cast was "Asphalt and Ablutions," which also contains some sax. Excellent.
-
I bought the track "Asphalt and Ablutions" through iTunes (although the whole album is for sale there); that's the one we used throughout the cast.
-
It's from ODST.
-
They don't, and it's awesome. The Flood are fucking lame. They run completely counter to what's interesting about Halo combat.
-
Nice! Do you have someone interested in playing multiplayer with you? It is the best.

COGITO ERGO DUMB anyway I'll be playing Borderlands on PC (surprise) -
I don't remember what I didn't like about it in a lot of detail, I just found it fairly boring, and I didn't get anything out of the two pairs of characters. It was much less memorable than Superstar Saga for me.

It's hard to describe. It's definitely being generated by my sound card, and is not a physical noise being made inside the case. It comes through the speakers. I have no idea what process results in its existence though.

Maybe they explain in their reviews

So did you work at Circle? I remember interviewing someone from there back in my Shacknews days. (http://www.shacknews.com/featuredarticle.x?id=41)

Yeah, I agree. It was completely unplanned, so we didn't think to do so until after we started recording the video itself. It takes two seconds to switch on FRAPS and start recording video, but none of our mics were turned on or anything. I'd love to do more game capture + commentary audio though. -
iTunes has a setting for this. I don't know about other readers.

A tragic condition that affects all too many games, even today.
