Yeah, I agree. Well, sort of. I don't really mind cars being licensed in general cases, but if they're going to do all this "Los Santos" and "Vinewood" business it seems incongruous and silly to have real cars.

Whoa, are they actually licensing cars for this one? That's a new Ford GT40 in that last pic. I suppose it could just be generic but it looks really accurate, unlike the cars from previous games.
  3. lucaswhat?

Yep. And my hat in the following one.
  4. lucaswhat?

I never noticed how much funnier that second picture is when placed directly after the first. EDIT: referring to my pics, that is, not Marek's.

  6. I'd still go for the earlier stuff first. The thing about U.X.O is that it's made up of material recorded between 1998 and 2003, and it's good, but it just doesn't feel like an album in the same sense that their other ones do. It's more varied than most of their albums but it just doesn't feel as solid.
  7. Doom 1 press release

Unless it's at the start of a sentence, of course, as in my post.
  8. Yeah, that's the view I held a year or two after Daikatana came out and the dust had settled. It still seems to make sense.
  9. Honestly, for Godspeed, I'd pick up either Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada (a shorter EP) or F#A#(infinity) (their debut album) before Lift Your Skinny Fists. They're both cheaper (or if you're going to obtain them illegally, they take less time to download) and I think they're better introductory works for the band. I do not recommend their latest release, Yanqui U.X.O,, unless you've heard and enjoyed their other stuff. (For the record, though Skinny Fists is their best album)
  10. Yeah, I wasn't taking into account that weird dating thing because that particular bit of knowledge did not enter the realms of my awareness regarding Romero until today... I mean I guess it's cool if they're both consentual or whatever, but it's still sort of creepy.
  11. You have to look at it another way?
  12. Much like how I feel about id (which I explained in another thread a minute ago), I can't help but like Romero too despite any good logical reasons for me not to feel that way. I guess it's for the same reason Tim likes him (I remember reading those Tim quotes when they came out). He's always so damn committed to what he's working on and some part of me just has to respect that. Basically it boils down to that Romero and id both just really strongly have their own vision (obviously they do not share those particular visions at the moment). They may be often misguided and not really executed very well (at least in Romero's case) but damn it they have some fucking visions and that's more than you can say for most people making games or doing anything else.
  13. Doom 1 press release

Id is one of those companies I damn well just can't help but like, regardless of anything that should suggest I feel otherwise. I'm not even much of an FPS fan or anything. I guess it's stuff like that Activision statement that does it for me.
  14. At least that I can agree with. Actually I don't know the slightest thing about Blur, but I always frown on Best Of.
  15. Man I think Romero has looked really goofy since he grew that moustache. Does anyone else remember when he didn't have it?
  16. Is that Warren Spector? And is the girl Stevie Case (I think that was her name)?
  17. Your name sounds like the name of a Russian double-agent spy scientist or something from a James Bond movie.
  18. DOOM 3 GOLD!!!

Yeah but my laptop's video card only has 16mb RAM.
  19. Two wonderfully relevant replacement suggestions...
  20. He probably was, but all those guys started working on games (even professionally) at astonishingly young ages.
  21. GTA: San Andreas screenshots

Wow, water does not equal death in this one. I'm sold!
  22. Psychonauts gets a publisher: Majesco

Heh, he's got a list in there of all the graphics that will be needed for the game, and each one is ranked either Vital, Desired, or Non-Vital. "Vital graphics must be completed for the game to be completed", he says. Apparently the "nudie calendar on wall" is a Vital graphic. Also: "Non-Orthogonal Walls Wolfenstein's walls were always at ninety degrees to each other, and were always eight feet thick. DOOM's walls can be at any angle, and be of any thickness. Walls can have see-through areas, change shape, and animate. This allows more natural construction of levels. If you can draw it on paper, you can see it in the game."
  23. DOOM 3 GOLD!!!

    Not mine!
