I guess because a lot of good console RPGs come out, but a lot of shit adventure games come out.
-
"Has declared" almost three months ago. Look at the date on Campbell's site. This CNN article is only a week old.
-
Hence my migration to the Thumb...
-
Well, there are a few things to take into account. This list really means Japanese console RPGs, and for the most part is referring to the Square-style ones. Also, if I remember correctly, all the rules relate to plot, not gameplay, so there's still room for innovation. Hell, adventure games haven't evolved at ALL in the last 10 years but those wackos over at Adventure Gamers still seem to like them.
-
Go for it. Since The Thumb is a selective news source (read: we're too lazy to actually post all the important stuff), we thrive on random crap like this.
-
Ballmer is a scary, scary man.
-
Of course, that's one of the ones that isn't actually true.
-
Why on Earth did you post that here? EDIT: Er, a minute ago there was a very random Kingz post in this thread but it seems to have disappeared...
-
Wow, that looks...worse than I remember.
-
See Trep, that could have been written up as a news post (hint hint)
-
Until I saw the trailer, I thought it was Final Fantasy-related, then I realized I was thinking of Advent Children.
-
Yeah, we should at least pretend SOMETIMES that we're a normal gaming site and not suspiciously adventure-fanboy-centric.
-
There was a whole boatload of expansions to Duke3D, though. They're not really full games, but they're further adventures of Duke in a FPS environment.
-
Well, the first two Duke games were great in 91 and 93, but by 96 I think it would have been a mistake to keep the game a simple side scroller. There's only so much the developers really could have done with it at that point and I think the change was surely for the best. Duke3D ended up being one of the most unique and advanced FPS games of its day.
-
Wow... This is definitely one of those games that holds a solid spot on my "Could be completely awesome" and "Could be completely terrible" lists simultaneously. There's a bit too much Matrix bullet-time business, it seems, but if it's done tastefully it could be a lot of fun.
-
Whoa, that trailer completely ruled
-
It's actually just "Nintendo DS", it's totally different from the GameBoy
-
Ah yes, of course. Elementary. Well, hooray for Facade!
-
Ah, well, that all looks very interesting, I'm sure
-
I can give a much more genuine congratulations here on The Thumb:
-
I'm not sure what a "neural net" is but I'm pretty sure Facade works like how Jake described. There are tons and tons of pre-recorded sentence fragments recorded and strung together on the fly to make complete statements.

Weather report makes the jump from 2D to 3D, aggrivates old ladies, Myst-lovers
Chris replied to Jake's topic in Video Gaming
Man, anyone who's spent the slightest bit of time on AG (or anywhere on the internet adventure community) should have identified the sarcasm immediately. Also, it's pretty awesome that Trep's genuine response is actually his genuine response when this comes up in adventure discussions. -
Also this trailer was pretty awesome.
-
Yeah, and I didn't even prompt him. I was pretty pleased.
