Well, I think Microsoft is more emphasizing that lots of people will be playing the game, rather than the game is expensive. And yes, games are too expensive, but then most games aren't going to sell as well as Halo 2. Games keep getting more expensive to make but I wonder if the gaming audience is proportionally increasing at the same rate.

Alien Hominid is coming out in a matter of days, at least in North America.

And you probably have a floppy drive.

I think it's a more problem than battery failure, because it still doesn't work if I have it plugged into an outlet (whether the battery is in the machine or not).

I don't see anything wrong with the guy's post. Either way, he doesn't seem to be dragging it out, so let's just let it be. -
Cauterising?

It's the worst club of them all!

Halo 2 is technically the only thing on my must-buy list, because the only system I can play games on right now is an Xbox, and because I have extremely limited funds as I save up for a new PC. I'll be playing Half-Life 2 at my local gaming cafe place, and GTA and Alien Hominid at the house of a friend who I know is buying both those games, as well as probably RE4.

Is that sort of thing expensive to repair?

They gave what 0/5 stars? AND THE THUMB. We give ALL the games 0/5 stars! (also 0% and 0/10)

I just watched that artistic director thing and vomited eighteen times. -

Bob, I completely agree. I hadn't watched that interview; I'll do so now. Another thing I was extremely disappointed about was that the Prince's voice has been changed to be more American and deep, and it's obvious that the game won't have the almost-cheesy-but-actually-really-good-and-endearing dialogue that the first one did. -

Encouraging! Let's just hope they didn't take a ridiculously selective Hollywood movie trailer approach to it, and that those videos are actually representative of the game as a whole. Except for the music. -

Those managed to get cut off in the middle... Try again I guess? -

Yes, I agree with Jake. Even if the combat is incredible and amazing and in fact the best combat ever conceived in a video game, I still won't have a physical puzzle-based game to pick up where SOT left off. I'll still have a fun game but it definitely won't be what I was looking for, and that saddens me. -

You're totally right that more developers should own the rights to their own, IP, but it's trickier now than it was ten years ago. Mechner hand-crafted POP 1 and almost all of 2 basically single-handedly, so there really wouldn't be any reason for anyone else to own the IP. With something like Grim Fandango, clearly Tim is the driving creative force behind the game but he was in the employ of LucasArts and was working on the title with a hojillion other creative people as well. Again, I agree with you, but it is a less feasable thing these days. -
I don't think 28 Days Later ever referred to them as zombies, though, did they? It's sort of a "zombie movie" in terms of structure and theme, but I don't think the movie ever used the term.

The one-two-three punch of GTA, Halo 2, and Half-Life 2 is going to utterly destroy me.
-
Yeah, the Gold edition comes with about a hojillion things.

I'm still saddened by the reduced amount of platformy jumpy acrobatic elements. I know the combat will be loads of fun but there are other games that already have such things, like Ninja Gaiden and so forth. The platform puzzle bits of Sands of Time were sort of its own domain that it did extraordinarily well. -
I'm almost positive it's Zero Mission, if not it's Fusion. Near the end of the game (it might be the final boss, I don't remember) when you're escaping the Space Pirate place and you run all the way through this damn space station to get to your ship, in the last room there are these two black Space Pirates who are a total surprise unless you know they're there. They just jump all over the place and take way more shots to kill than usual and you can't leave the room until you kill them. Argh, that was ultimate frustration for me when I was trying to beat the game under various conditions to unlock endings.

You have to get a new computer.
-
Funny you should mention that situation... have you beat Metroid Zero Mission?

The most groundbreaking and controversial poll/debate ever! (Not Bush and Kerry!)

Biscuits are definitely not the same thing as scones here... Are you saying they gave you scones and gravy rather than biscuits and gravy? -
Well, to be fair, Sands of Time really didn't have anything in common with the original POP games in terms of gameplay, but still yeah this looks kind of lame.
