I was going to point that out...

Next time it comes up, turn it off. Go to the options and de-select "use shortcut" or whatever.

Yeah, you are in fact agreeing with me on the rehash thing then. There were some moments when the extreme mip-mapping bothered me but aside from that I didn't have any qualms with the game's visuals. Sure, they don't look as "good" as even a lot of stuff coming out for the PS2 these days, but the scale of the world they represent makes up for it for me. The game has color in the right places and generally what is on the screen is assembled in a nice way.

I already talked about it at great length in some other thread, so I don't feel like doing it again here, but basically my experience was this: I started off sort of enjoying it, but kind of thinking it was just another rehash of the GTA3 formula. As I played it more, though, I really became taken with the sheer depth and enormity of the world, and I pretty much just kept enjoying it more and more. It's a really good game.

I don't know; "elses" still looks wrong no matter how many times I read it...

He's in a student short film, set to the soundtrack of Requiem For a Dream.

If we accept Jake's explanation for why the GCN acronym has three letters, I can supply why it's GCN and not the more intuitive NGC: In Japan, there's a phone company with the name NGC, and Nintendo didn't want to cause any confusion or copyright issues and I guess they figured it would be easier to just apply it worldwide rather than have NGC in the countries without that phone company.

That's not the "right" answer, it's the "wrong" answer. It's the one you're not supposed to say because it means you're fucking crazy.

Er, why is this discussion being had in Thumbs? I mean, it doesn't really matter that much, but it's really only making Thumbs more of a weird exclusive in-joke riddled safehaven for old AGers. (That said, whatever happened to Curt(/Meg)?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time & Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Chris replied to ThePope's topic in Video Gaming
Well, time will only tell if you don't know if you want more action or not. I absolutely don't want more action. Less action would have been awesome. Also, that's hardly the only difference. The entire mood and tone of the game have changed, and the character of the Prince is quite difference. Those are things I already know I'm not going to enjoy, even if the action is suddenly super fun. -
Maybe she's already nuts and she finds out her sister is going to marry that guy? I don't know. That's probably a common answer.

Weird. It still seems to me, however, that it would be an Interplay-published game under the Black Isle label, but maybe not, I don't know...
-
Well, yes, exactly. That's why it would surprise me if Black Isle published something, since they were a first-party Interplay developer.
-
Is it a real console and PC mag, or is it really just a console mag that likes to act as if it has PC coverage as well? I've seen those before (and vice versa)...
-
Black Isle published?? I thought they were just a dev house. Didn't Interplay publish all that stuff?
-
What the hell is "machinima"??

You'll lie down, you don't "lay" down. Unless you're putting something else down.

Thanks, Jake, for the LucasArts financial update. Now to weather.

What I'm wondering is why there are so many zombies there. Apparently only one guy lives there, so where are the zombies coming from? Don't the headcrabs have to leech onto a living person? Surely the situation has been like this for a while since everyone knows that nobody goes to Ravenholm, so it would seem to me that there wouldn't be anyone left to zombify anymore.
-
Yeah, I agree with the complaints both about Ravenholm and not being able to pick up bodies. Ravenholm really felt tacked-on to me, and that was also one of the biggest points my idiot retarded console-playing friend made when he wasn't too much farther than that in the game. I hope that the priest guy will show up later in the game to provide at least some kind of connection with the rest of the game, but I sort of suspect if he does it'll be a lip service "Ah, here's that wacky Gregorio killing a zombie or maybe getting killed to elicit some quick emotion". If you've beat the game, don't spoil it though.

I just tried this for the first time. I don't get it at all.
