There's a level like that in Psychonauts too!
  2. my fan made monkey island game

There have been plenty of LucasArts fan games that never got any such letters. I'm sure there are a few that have but I've never even heard of it happening.

    All hail the Kingz' Jester!
  5. Man, I'm really disappointed I didn't see this in theatres. I'll have to make sure to rent it.
  6. Random Psychonauts Tidbits (possible spoilers)

That was a classic. I'm kicking myself for not doing it to everyone from the moment I got the power.

    WHY ARE PUBLISHERS RETARDED
  8. Penny Arcade

Haha I actually like the Lumines one but I agree the Lorne Lanning one was kind of unnecessary.

I used to really like Non Sequitur when I was younger, now I think it's second=rate overblown satire. Anyway, probably the issue of Non Sequitur that was in question was a strip in which a guy called Scotty (a short overweight bespectacled dude) is trying to get into a club but the big beefy bouncer. Scotty is saying "Since when do celebreties have to be on the guest list!?" or something, and the caption is "Scotty discovers that having a lot of people visit your website does not make you famous." This was clearly a direct jab at Scott Kurtz, who was (possibly still is, I don't know) trying to get his webcomic PvP syndicated in newspapers. He was offering it for free, just for the exposure. He was the subject of ridicule by many syndicated cartoonists, and was the subject of all sorts of letters to editors verbally reaming him for thinking he can hang with the big boys. Jake and I attended a panel at Comic-Con which put webcomic artists and syndicated cartoonists int he same room, and it was astonishing. The syndicated guys just shit all over the webcomic guys for being too big for their britches, thinking they're successful, and the webcomic guys accused the syndicated guys of being outmoded and stubborn. Both sides accused the other of naivite. Anyway, while both sides were being kind of jerks, the thing I don't think that the syndicated guys understand is that people like Scott Kurtz and Gabe and Tycho are successful. They make a comfortable living, and honestly they have a way better deal than the syndicated guys, because they make their own terms. The syndicated guys have a certain degree of security, but if their syndicate desides to fuck them or if a newspaper drops them, that's it. And that's not to mention the increasingly shitty conditions that led people like Bill Watterson to drop out of the business entirely. There are clearly way more unsuccessful webcomic artists than practically any other "job" in the world, but syndicated cartoonists are blind if they don't think it's a feasable way to make money. Whether Kurtz gets in the papers or not doesn't matter. He doesn't have to in order to be a success, and the syndicated guys don't realize that. To them, newspaper=success. For Kurtz, newspaper=bonus, but certainly nothing he needs to keep on doing what he does and supporting his family.

I would suggest going to the store you got it from, but you clearly got it by mail order. Try finding a general number for GameStop first, then try Majesco.

Mine came with one each of discs 1-5.

  13. Elijah Wood Goes 360

He didn't rape them. He killed and ate them. MY BAD, SORRY.
  14. Elijah Wood Goes 360

Ok ok, sorry. Anyway, Rodriguez has often stated that he plans to adapt all of Miller's Sin City stories into film.
  15. I still don't know what to make of the soundtrack to The Third Man, whether I think it's awesome or just weird.
  16. Elijah Wood Goes 360

Crap, I guess I spoiled some of it for you.

Yeah, it would be totally great to have a psychotic cannabal rapist as the symbol for your entertainment system...
  19. Game Packaging Sucks

However, in music most bands still have the control to pretty much do what they want with their albums. Aside from Top 40 bullshit, and especially with independent labels being such a major force in popular music today, bands have an amount of control a billion times higher than what game developers do, in terms of their content, packaging, etc. Games are even worse than mainstream movies these days in terms of being designed by committee and subject to endless rounds of approval. I guess the spectrum of creative control is something like books/visual art>theatre>music>movies>games, surely I'm forgetting stuff but probably approximately that.
  20. Tim Schafer on Icons today on G4

Yeah, don't give that guy shit for being cheesy or whatever. He's one of the best journalists we've got.
  21. Game Packaging Sucks

Yeah, that's actually a really good point.

I don't get it... Our console games all come in DVD boxes, so I guess they'll cope with it the same way they do on consoles? I still don't get what you mean, though...
