I didn't watch it... I think I'd pretty much be setting myself up for a big lame fall if I expected anything interesting out of a celebrity-ridden unveiling of a Video Game Console on MTV. Not a winning combination.

Why exactly would that be such a dealbreaker? I mean it would definitely be convenient, but how man games are you going to be so desperate to play all the time that you can't use your old Xbox?

I really don't think it was that much better "back then". It was just as much committee-designed and marketing-inspired in the old days as it is now.

Yeah, I was going to say that and I forgot due to the actual gameplay taking over my brain. Zimmerman is more of an academic/experimental designer/researcher guy, but I'd love to see him get this ported to DS. Man it would be great. It starts off so slowly as to feel almost insulting and maddeningly, even after it gets to level 14 (which I was still on when I stopped playing, I can't figure out of 14 is the limit or just really really long) it's still not moving that fast and the gameplay tasks still aren't hard but you really have to devote all your attention to it.

It always looked overly hip to me, I don't know. I respect that the guy self-publishes and all, and I've often felt I should check it out just for the hell of it, but I've never felt all that compelled.

I just think it's creepy as fuck not that he got a wardrobe change (which does make him seem like a poser but does not scare me) but that he actually appears to have de-aged at least 10 years. Clearly, very expensive plastic surgery was involved.

The only way I'll see it opening night is if Thumbs takes an E3 trip to see it. Failing that, I suspect I won't even see it in theatres, and I'm certainly not going to make any effort to do so. I've missed a lot of stuff in the last year I meant to see in theatres, and going the extra mile for friggin Episode III of all things would just seem wrong on principle.
