Ah ok, I guess I was creating a midpoint in my brain between that and when he left LucasArts.

This happened a while ago. It's been maybe a year and a half?

Apparently it's something like one response in 10,000 spam emails keeps it profitable. So even if 99.99% of people ignore spam, that ONE FUCKING GUY ruins it for the rest of us. I read an article in Time or Newsweek or something about people who compulsively buy things that are advertised in spam mails. They talked to these people and it blew my mind. "I couldn't resist! It was such a good deal!" and the guy's wife is like "Well, he spends a lot of money, but it's harmless..." FUCK YOU IT'S NOT HARMLESS ARHAGHGH

Hear, hear. Trade in Advent Rising for some other wacky crap if you want, but pay for Psychonauts and send a message.

I think it's really really lame that they're not including a hard drive, wireless controller, or component video cables with the $299 version.

Nothing specific, I just improvised some stuff.

It's not so much that they make kids games as much as that those games really aren't that great. They've made several non-kids games as well, and they weren't quite classics either.

It's not really "from Nintendo", it's from N-Space. It's exclusive to GameCube though. Based on what I've played so far, this game could really go either way. The controls could be better and it looks like it might not be polished to a desirable degree, but its unique properities might make up for it.

Well, I guess it sort of makes sense if you're talking about Pikmin...

I too recommend buying a game.

Wow, great article

No, that's a lot of money. Most games don't take that much money unless they're really triple-A. $7M is already seen as a "high-budget" game.

Fair enough. I don't know if I'd agree, though; I feel an artist can make a horrible decision just as anyone else can, being motivated by any number of unworthwhile factors.

Ok, but that last situation you give (toning stuff down and making it a LITTLE bit more accessible) could precisely be an example of a morally-instigated change. No offense, but it sort of sounds like you yourself have a double standard.
-
You really think creativity compromised for morality is worse than creativity compromised for commercialism?

I sort of doubt they "added" 20 minutes to the "international" version ":shifty:"

I thought it was the mythological hero.

What area? Are you in San Diego?

A couple guys I know (in real life and in my World of Warcraft guild) played that all the friggin time.

It's not really bullshit, it's just unofficial. That is, it's a fan project. It'll probably never get done, but it's not fake.
