I met Spencer at E3 last year, seems like a cool dude. We went to California Pizza Kitchen.

That's pretty cool. The PC version is also like that; it cost me $40 and even though I went with a retail version, you can just put your code into your already-downloaded demo and it turns into the full game. It's like shareware! There's also a digital download option.

Idle Thumbs UK 2: Conversation Killer
Chris replied to Marek's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Well, it seems like you might be deliberately misinterpreting "The Fourth Pillar" to be "The Only Pillar." -
I've also heard this, but I can't figure out how to do it.

I picked this up on PC the other day as well. I've been having a lot of fun with it and it seems like a really great port from a technical standpoint. It runs great on my machine at 1920x1200 with the options turned up. I'm extremely impressed that there has been no noticeable framerate loss or anything, considering how fast everything is going constantly.

Yeah, my Ork strategy was heavily infantry-dependent so I'm having to adjust quite a bit post-patch.

It must have been started before Valve bought Turtle Rock, because I played an entire co-op campaign at Valve's offices before Valve bought Turtle Rock.

Idle News Podblast - 02/05/09: With Joe Pesci

That is awful. -
I would like to play this more regularly than I do (which is irregularly). After all these months, versus mode is finally starting to click with me, and it's becoming way more fun. My Steam thing is this: http://steamcommunity.com/id/chrisremo/

I approve of this thread! In particular: This game has level design! (IGN.com) and "This game will rape you in half and stuff you through a mailbox!" - IGN.com are winnars.
-
Yeah but that doesn't change anything other than the visual element, really.

Good points Dan, but I disagree about Shepherd. That guy was as bland as they come; I don't think I would have been any less invested in him as a character were it a first-person game.

For next week maybe I'll try it on the top difficulty and see how it plays in comparison. And hooray for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETN1px7i4KY

Yeah, that's fair. I'm not doing a traditional written review, so my reactions were just that--my own reactions. Pretty much all my opinions are the podcast are just my own opinions about games, as opposed to trying to do a balanced review that takes what different people might be looking for into account. I try to talk about games the same way I would with other people in person (which is what we're actually doing, of course). Just my own personal experience with Killzone 2 was not super exciting. I still expect a lot of people to like it, which is fine.

Actually, a huge proportion of modern console games feature attract modes. I would venture to say most do.

This post suggests you will fit in here probably I am guessing

Hot Scoops and I saw The Sweet Smell of Success at San Francisco's incredible Castro Theatre on Sunday, and it was easily one of the best films I've ever seen. See it as soon as you can. Also I bought the rad soundtrack by Elmer Bernstein and the Chico Hamilton quintet immediately after seeing it because that is also incredible.
-
I'm the same way at this point, but with the Orks. I'm already not awesome at this game, so I'm sure as soon as I try a difference race it will just be a disaster.
-
Nah, he's right. Trust me, it was a REALLY awkward interview.

What...? Also, with regard to that RPS link--Jesus Christ. I really hate to say this, but the number of times I've seen Continental European game journalists ask inane and/or insane and/or pointlessly inflammatory questions at press events is just off the charts. It is incredibly bizarre and I frequently feel bad for the developers who have to deal with it.
