It doesn't explicitly achieve anything, per se. The intent is solidarity with those in Iran. Seeing people worldwide demonstrating awareness of their situation and support for their efforts can, if nothing else, only be encouraging. At the worst, it does no harm.

No, definitely not. The game was originally designed for PC.

They all have cooperative multiplayer, but Xbox 360 might have it online. They've also said though that they may patch the other versions later. And I'm not going to wait for the Xbox 360 version just for that. It comes out on PC next week, Xbox 360 is months away without a release date.

To the extent that it's possible, I like to have as many of my digitally-distributed games in one place--that is, Steam. Also, in general, since I do such a high percentage of my gaming on PC anyway, it's nice to just not have to switch over. I mainly use my consoles for stuff exclusive to those platforms. I also prefer the mouse and keyboard controls. To me the mouse feels much more suitable for the grappling hook and wizard casting mechanics. That's sort of irrelevant, though, since I can just use an Xbox 360 controller on PC if I want, and I prefer that controller to the PlayStation 3 controller anyway. As far as "PC" versus "the PC," I'm sure either is acceptable. I'm referring to "PC" as a platform, like "Xbox 360" or "PS3," and I don't usually assign definite articles to those, but it doesn't really matter.

You are the one who has been shit...upon.

It only costs half if you buy the non-Steam version on PC, but yeah there's still a discrepancy, which is annoying. I'll get it on PC anyway, but dumb.

This may be obvious, but I figured I'd point out that Meridian4 is a publisher, not a developer, so the quality of one game may not necessarily be reflective of the others. I'm not familiar with its titles, other than Shadowgrounds, which I picked up a few weeks ago, before learning it would be free with Trine. It's a fun game, pretty simplistic but well made.

Definitely looking forward to this game. I hope they fix all the things I didn't like about Mass Effect. They won't, so I hope they fix some of them.

He is that guy to me as well -
Your achievement contains the phrase "an URL," which suggests to me you pronounce URL as a word ("earl") rather than an acronym ("U-R-L"); pronouncing it the latter way would result in "a URL."
-
Ugh, you pronounce it "earl"?

You being scared or thinking there are too many Republicans really isn't a reason for Republicans to not be fully free to express their opinions, thoughts, and beliefs. I'm sure a lot of them find the likes of you scary as well. You're also extrapolating out a lot. My parents are both longtime Republicans and Christians who deliberately raised me to be a rational person who puts great value in education, science, literature, art, and the humanities in general. I've met a number of their similarly-leaning friends who exhibit the same traits. I don't share their political or religious views--mine are probably at least vaguely in line with yours, for example--but I very much respect their general outlook on life. Anyway I haven't the slightest idea how many Republicans are in that same mold but to associate the entire membership of what is currently the nation's second-largest party with the much more visible and audible Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannities of this country seems silly when you're discussing who should be allowed to have full, unfettered free speech or whatever it is we're discussing. Maybe you're being deliberately overzealous and I'm being dumb, I don't know.

Well, whether South African people in London "might be somewhat offended" really isn't relevant. She also said "men in South Africa," and not "South African men." The article says one in four admitted to having raped someone. It wouldn't be hugely surprising to me if there were at least some others who had and didn't want to admit it.

God. There were five games inside that box, and the box was sold for the price a single game is frequently sold. It's not that hard to understand! Obviously, it wasn't "five old games," and everybody knows that, so why even ask?
-
So we're bringing it back on 9/9/09? ha ha internet

I don't really understand your complaint. Most successful genres wouldn't go two years between notable releases--two months, even--why would this one? It would be like saying "These romantic comedies man" or "These country albums man."

Just don't forget about your longstanding PC dudes! I really enjoyed Revolution, but I've also been playing Sid Meier games since Civilization (the original one) on the PC, which I played for years. Also, though he certainly wouldn't know me by name, I've met Sid Meier a couple times and he's easily one of the smartest, most humble, down-to-earth guys in the games industry. I was able to chat with him a bit a couple years back, which was cool after more than 15 years of playing his games, and I was extremely impressed. I'm sure he must be a good guy to work for.

Greeeeeat... Say hello to the "misinformed" generation
Chris replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Idle Banter
It didn't "get to that point," it's always been like that. The idea of even being able to have every school in a country of 300 million citizens operate on the same curriculum would be logistically nearly impossible for most of history. It's only in the era of mass communication and mass media that such a thing would be possible. Furthermore, since the United States is, of course, made up of states with the power to run their own education systems, it's not too surprising that every school in the country isn't run the same way. Federally-imposed standards are a frequently-discussed step, but who knows where it will go. -
Didn't he say you can do this?

The games you make are rad. Good job. Announce a new one.
