  1. CNN International is so much better. You get Kristie Lu Stout: ... but that's not all. You also get... Richard Quest, the most insane news reporter alive! Whatever drugs he's on, I want some too. He's fucking hilarious. I seriously think he was drunk on a recent report from Florida about swing voters. He just kept on making inappropriate jokes, with the studio anchor saying "let's ... let's not go there". Edit: Holy shit he has a blog devoted to him!! That is so totally bookmarked.
  2. attention!

    Agreed.
  3. Revenge

Tell me, is "Revenge is a dish best served cold" actually an English proverb, or is it (as I always thought) a fictional Klingon proverb? I just really need to know, since yesterday I saw it out of Klingon context, and now I'm wondering if the proverb was there all the time, or if pop culture has in fact invented a proverb that was then assimilated into common language.
  4. Revenge

    Thank God for that.
  5. El ranto - PC-DVDs

Ummm, the Collector's Edition is not that awesome at all. Yes, it comes on DVD, but it's just regular edition + HL: Source + tshirt + book sampler. If you get the Steam Gold Package you get all of that, but instead of a book sampler you get an actual book, as well as Day of Defeat: Source + all games currently available on Steam + 3 posters + hat + postcard + stickers + soundtrack CD + Gabe Newell's wife (while supplies last) + some other shit. Though perhaps it was Steam Gold that you meant.
  6. The pictures look fake because they are fake, but apparently they're coming from some people who are trying to get something accross without saying it. A project leader of a company called Warp Pipe, which makes a third party thing that online-enables GameCubes, has been dropping vague shit like this: I'm not sure what to make of it, nor do I care too much at this point.
  7. Katamari Damacy trailer

I would say that it is to some degree. See http://archive.salon.com/tech/log/2001/04/26/animation/ or google on animutation.
  8. Katamari Damacy trailer

    Gameplay revealed:
  9. Coolest prop

Yes, that plastic bag. OK so seriously, I think in terms of props there's few things that beat The A-Team. I mean, holy crap... a cabbage cannon?!
  10. Public service announcement!!

Err, rape? You started to rape, and then decided against it and started to sing? How odd.
  11. Public service announcement!!

Fuck it I'm leaving too. But only if you don't come back if I go.
  12. Coolest prop

Die tasche. Die tasche. Die tasche. (Die tasche.) Die tasche. Die tasche. Okay, so that wasn't a cool prop at all, but since it was so heavily emphasized in the dialog it was actually the first thing that sprang to mind.
  13. Okami, another interesting looking game...

http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_okami_jp.html trailer here This game is from the same studio that makes Viewtiful Joe.
  14. Katamari Damacy trailer

Not really. I was just making a comparison. Google will explain all.
  15. Katamari Damacy trailer

It's a typical style of fan created Flash movie with random things going on and Japanese music playing.
  16. Scrapland

Please God, yes! Let Idle Thumbs have a new patron saint.
  17. The Future of adventure games?

You talk to yourself? Awesome! I wish I could do that.
  18. Scrapland

I haven't played Scrapland yet but from what I've read at least the concept is interesting, and it isn't called Scrapland III or Scrapland Returns: The Reckoning. I have a low tolerance for smooth-talking 'call my agent' type characters, but as much as McGee is in danger of being seen as one, I don't think he really is that kind of guy. Yes, he's blatantly attaching his mostly self-appointed stardom to other games, but you have to admit that he's at least being very smart about it. A few months ago no one knew about Scrapland, and now it's being talked about on forums everywhere.
  19. Most game stores stopped being actual stores a long time ago. Recently I went to shop specifically for games, but no specific game in mind, and once again I realized that every store that carried games had the exact same 30 or-so games for each platform. It was infuriating! Even the lower-priced "hey look we also have this stuff from 2 years ago too" games were exactly the same everywhere. Apparently there's a games specialty store somewhere in my town. I need to find it. Alright, so it'll probably be a scary place, with erm people playing Magic: The Gathering at the back, but at least they may actually have an interesting stock of different titles, both old and new.
  20. Beyond Good & Evil With Great Spoilers

I kind of see where you're coming from, though I actually didn't like the ending as a whole. It was decent enough, but nothing memorable at all. I did like how the camera panned through the destructed lighthouse with the credits rolling by, though. In fact, I think I liked that more than the actual ending to the story with the whole cutscene and all.
  21. The Future of adventure games?

Interesting. So did this guy on AIM!!
  22. The Future of adventure games?

Please do NOT post threads titled "The Future of adventure games?" on Idle Thumbs. It gave me a zillion heart attacks.
