You do know that package comes with a ton of stuff, right? That doesn't mean it isn't overpriced, but it's not like those 110 euros only get you HL2 and CS: Source.

In case you haven't heard of Eve Online yet, it's a kind of interesting interstellar MMO which was released in 2003. PC Gamer UK has an article on the game, which is cool since games usually don't get this kind of post-release treatment even though MMO's certainly seem to be the most deserving of such treatment. The article describes the universe and its going-ons in a nicely narrative way. Its author gave us the heads up on a PDF version that you can download here. It's not a scan or anything, it's been cleared for web circulation. The file is 6 MB, in case you want to not touch it with your modem.

PlayStation2…Behind the Scenes Contest!!! - AKA THE DANGER ZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's flattering, in a way. Idle Thumbs: Relevant Enough To Be Targetted For Viral Marketing®. -
One of the guys in the bar appears later when he's being torn apart by zombies. Someone asks if they're close to the Winchester yet, and when Shaun sees the guy from the bar (with the cowboy boots) he says "we're close". The other ones don't serve a purpose though, you're right.

I thought this might be of interest, given that we probably all want Psychonauts to be promoted well. It seems Majesco has pulled out all the stops for its other major game, BloodRayne 2. I will in fact tolerate significant levels of cheesy marketing tie-ins for Psychonauts, and hope that the game will get at least a few such promotions. I'm not suggesting Raz should appear in Playboy, but clearly Majesco PR seems to have some good ideas.

Just got the November issue of Edge and it's still the same. Page 1 says that the December issue will see a restyling though.
-
The first game actually sold half a million copies, again because Majesco really pushed it a lot (partly because it was Majesco's first big-budget title).

It's pretty much about blood. And Rayne.

I think Majesco has done a terrible job with adding in the narrator and getting the trailer ready, so I mostly agree with you. The voices of the actual characters and the sound design are superb though.

You have to fill out the form to see them.

I think it's impossible to win.

Yep.

I love how the Schafer-dialog will be given twice its usual effect thanks to the excellent animation.

I was spoiled a little by seeing a sneak preview after Tim's GDC presentation this year but this trailer is a lot longer. I hate the narrators voice and the typography at the end but erm shit this trailer is going to stare and laugh at my productivity for the next hour. I look forward to viewing this again a hundred times. Starting now.

What on Earth is this?! It's a freaking animutation, apparently. I'm loving it.

There's been some annoying bits in some of the threads lately. This is kind of lame and makes me (and probably everyone) a bit frustrated with the forum. Can we all agree to not get into pointless debates or angryness or being anal retentive? Let's be nice to each other here. Sorry for this thread. Let's get on with talking about games and shaun of the dead.

I'll say one thing about Tell Tale: they're super enthusiastic. I hope they'll be able to find a concept that works for them. In other news, since when does Chris Kohler work for GameSpot? I thought he wrote for Wired? That's cool. GameSpot's news section is fast becoming an example for everyone else.

Didn't archery in Fable involve aiming in first-person? Or am I confusing two different games?
-
MOTHERFUCKING GOOSE! Now delete that from your memory, once and for all.

Maybe, but I was more comparing us against other smaller amateur / niche / hobby sites, not GameSpot or GameSpy, even though our ambitions may be slightly larger than just being some out of control group blog about games.

I have not read GamesTM. I've seen it at newsstands a few times but the cover never really drew me in. Maybe I'll give it a chance sometime. I will be highly frustrated if Edge grows more pretentious and less fresh. Especially because I'll be getting it for the next two years. (The subscription was a present, but still.)

I'm in favor of tactically deployed profanity. However, spiraling flurries of fucks and cocks in every direction and being an angry bitch does not fall in that category. We must remember the thin line between unfiltered opinion and being retarded. That said, I don't think we should make too big a deal out of this, so let's go back to having fun on these forums. On another note, why does anyone care Thumb uses the occasional profanity? It's not like anyone cares when any other site does it, so why do you guys think it's our most striking characteristic? We're not trying to be edgy, we're just writing things the way we'd say it to each other and I personally think it's weird this keeps coming up.

O'Brien to Take Over The Tonight Show in 2009
Marek replied to Kolzig's topic in Movies & Television
Haha yes. Fortunately I don't rely on CNN for my news. I watch EuroNews or BBC World for that instead. By the way, I agree on Jon Stewart, in that I hate the fact that he smiles all the time. I do think the jokes on the Daily Show are top class, and they're generally well delivered, but then Jon tends to screw it up by fake laughing or smiling at the camera for too long. It's not stopping me from watching though. I love it.
