Quack. Mooooooooooooooooooo!
-
I've played it for like 4 hours now and let me tell you: it is worth the wait. So far, it looks like the best shooter I have ever played.

Wow, I didn't expect this kind of universal acknowledgement. I wasn't aware it's broadcasted in the US too. Yeah, no shit, that was hilarious! My favorite bit of this season, for a reason that should be obvious, was when they reviewed one of the Spyker models and the guy kept going like "oh man those crazy Dutch!" and "look at this, it's insane! only the Dutch could have made this!" and just kept connecting features of the car to the stereotypical Dutch mentality that had to have given birth to them.

The NRA pries a video game from the industry's COLD DEAD HANDS! Yay.

For a while I got sent review copies of these sort of games, with lovable titles like, erm, Extreme Pro Bunny Hunter 4000 or something. I haven't really taken a look at them. -
What the hell is wrong with the flaming baby? He was clearly one of the highlights of the film.

I believe there's some Producer overlap as well as probably low-level personel who are brought in towards the end (Ubi sometimes puts a whopping 150 people on a project), but they're essentially different teams.

Teh winnar is Jack Black.

I think that video is extremely bitter and completely full of itself. If it tries to make a valid point about the game's AI (which is well possible), then it fails. If it attempts to make a "FUNNY VIDEO OMG LOL" then they've also failed. Conclusion: lame.

Much like City of Heroes, WoW in its own way tries to make the MMO genre a lot sexier and a lot less cyclical and slow-paced. I'm really impressed by what I saw. I think the "gain XP even if you don't play" mechanism is a Godsend for the genre. That said we have a LOT of best-selling games this year. It is just baffling how much quality and quantity there is in just these few months. If only there were less sequelitis. And if only the games were spread out more accross the year, so I could play more than 2% of them.

I'll put that in the quotes section of my CV.

I'll come to SF too if your collegue gives me a Nokia gig.

Yeah. They're getting it dirt cheap so they can't really complain.
-
Yeah a friend who has the stuttering bug didn't report any changes after that patch either.
-
Also how do you say when you're going to somehow alter your existing house or interior? I mean, like home improvement, but then as an active phrase? Is "reconstruction" acceptable?
-
Err I remember unfolding the first item on the list and thinking it was the stuttering bug? But I'm a laptop now unable to check for myself.

Err, the complaints about the changelog? There's been only one update/fix, and it's there. It has the information you expect to find in a changelog. That the SDK feels a little incomplete is a valid point, but not the point you made earlier It's a developers tool though, so if it takes a one-page guide to set it up correctly instead of setting itself up automatically, that's alright. I didn't make me go "mmmm convenient!" but if you're working with an SDK I think you need to set your expectations for user-friendlyness slightly lower. I mean I agree with you on the whole, I just don't think these issues should be given the same weight.

Some new CS: S skins would be welcomed as it wouldn't just be a cosmetic update. You'd actually have to pay more attention to who is friend or foe. I'd like that a lot. That's also why I've grown to love friendly fire, as it makes things more calculated and less haphazard. Toblix: if you're trying to list complaints about Steam, those are probably the weakest ones. The HL2 changelog is in fact complete. It has the obligatory first entry which in this case is "made available for pre-loading" instead of the usual "released to the public", but all the updates since then are listed (just one). You might have gotten more updates, but those were for Steam, not HL2, and are listed elsewhere. I don't see your problem with the HL2DM contest. You can start mapping and scripting right now, and when the deathmatch behaviors/triggers/whatnot become available (I assume from your post they're not available now) you can easily insert them where they're needed. It's just a drop-down menu, you know... Steam isn't perfect but these complaints are either unfounded or very minor.

In Japan anything that's English sounds cool. A while ago I saw a Japanese plastic toy robot called "AVOIDER!!!".

Man there's lots of dev crap in the HL2 texture database. There's obviously menu icons for all the known weapons, but also for an iceaxe, binoculars, stunstick, flaregun, sniper rifle, a "slam" (whatever that is), tau cannon, pulse shield, molotov ... what the hell? Also the CS: S texture database now shows what could be bitmaps of early versions of the other skins, though I can't be too sure. (Looks too high-res for CS Classic, but maybe I underestimate its quality.)
-
Possible, yes. But it requires quite a bit of scripting to get right.
-
Wait, I thought this was about Yannis Mallat. I'm outta here.
-
Oh man the HL2 deathmatch is fucking out of the control. It's a total warzone. There's a never-ending stream of gunfire, shit flying around everywhere, people throwing radiators at each other, etc. As a result the ping takes a very high toll, so you actually have to find servers that are close to you, but man... it is worth it. Valve: I want to have your baby.

I hate folding t-shirts. I always do it wrong somehow. Now I love it. Thanks to this website I can fold t-shirts in one move NINJA STYLE!! It really works! It has made my life a lot easier and about 0,004% more fun.

For a moment I thought you said this in reference to actually folding a shirt.
