If anyone asks, yes that has always been there.

Dutch gaming site Gamer.nl has posted a rather funny (though unconvincingly faked) press release announcing Clippy: The Helping Paperclip for Xbox 2, which would be a platform game based on the exciting character IP originally developed for Microsoft Word. Am I the only one who would actually buy that game? Basically they could rip off Paper Mario. Except you have to ... clip things.

Clippy to star in platformer - a joke I wish were true

It's not funny. It just leads to amusing thoughts. -
A mish-mash of herring and lipstick kept the mountain afloat.

That's cool though. We were getting too popular anyway. Now we're back to being underground and edgy and not read.

... and that many new ideas aren't sold as well as old ideas.

Was it ever that hot to begin with, outside of Wind Waker, XIII and Jet Set Radio? Bring back the cellshading I say.

What's wrong with patents?
-
Shit. Has anyone played it? How the hell do you throw bombs?
-
I only played A Link to the Past before.
-
Whoops never mind, I figured it out. I didn't realize you could pick up bombs after you dropped them

Rim Lighting[tm] looks nice but let's hope it doesn't become as hip as the Bloom Shader[tm].

Nintendo Power has listed Katamari Damacy for the DS in its schedule of upcoming releases. YES.

Hmmm? Oh yeah and fucking Rogue Agent, but nobody cares.

If you're dissapointed that Age of Empires DS isn't real-time but turn-based, check this out:

That must have taken days to Photoshop.

What's wrong with the Thumb Thingy?

Pretty awesome. It's nice to see this again.

Kingzjester is Ron Gilbert. Didn't you know?!

Europe will get the second game. That's been confirmed.

Nice, where did you find it?

Although I'm sick of Mario, sick of his immediate associates, and also a little bit sick of Zelda (though not as much), I think strategically Nintendo handles its IP a lot better than most companies. At least they time their releases so that when Mario Game X comes out it's actually been a while since a similar Mario game was released. The list above is a list of highlights by the way. Here's the full Ubi lineup. There's some as yet untitled stuff in there.

... kind of. (Sorry for the deceptive thread title.) But it's also a game where you control a ball of sludge and use its physics properties to complete your goals. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/03/17/news_6120609.html Has anyone played the original?

What's Darkstalkers? I'm interested in Lumines too. I think it's awesome that whatshisname created Lumines for PSP and co-created Meteos for DS. He's on a roll!

UbiSoft's strategy so far has been to produce the odd numbered titles in Montreal and produce the even numbered titles in Shanghai or some B-team at Montreal. POP '1' was done by the ass-kicking Montreal team. POP '2' was done by an entirely different team, and their project started before POP 1 was out the door. Splinter Cell - Montreal Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorow - Shanghai Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - Montreal (started before Pandora Tomorrow was released) etc. I'm not sure if this is entirely 100% accurate in terms of details but this is basically the way they've set things up. The big question is now, how far will they go until a series has run out? 4 games? 5? 6? 7??? I think a lot of these series will suffer the Star Trek syndrome (so much get produced that eventually anticipation is gone and nobody cares anymore) if they don't pause at the right moment.
