Yes, I know that. But even as a creative exercise it didn't strike me as anything super interesting. Oh well.

I saw Requiem for a Dream some years ago. It didn't strike me as particularly depressing. It didn't strike me as anything at all. In fact, I hardly remember anything about it. I believe I was chemically inconvenienced at the time.

Before I start reading it: what is it?

The Room is a load of crap. Granted, it's good that Lionhead has some experiments going on, and surely the things Lionhead learns with it will find its way into other games, but The Room in and of itself is utterly unimpressive to me. Myst with physics? Rag Doll Kung Fu is a lot more worthwhile as an experiment. It's something tangible and real, not some half-realized blurry dream of an "artistic" but in fact meaningless "virtual world". Feh.

You're with me. We'll form a coalition of moderates.

I'm not going to read this thread until I'm done with the game, but I think this counts as a random Psychonauts tidbit. Back in 2002, these guys: ... would in fact run up to you with a big "NO" stamp and yell "NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" in a metallic voice. Why the hell did they change them? The old classic E3 2002 brain censors were so good. Here they are. I like how they're now little guys in suits but their overall comedy value has been reduced by a million. What a shit game.

I saw the movie. I liked it. To be honest I find Donnie Darko haters just as annoying as people who think Donnie Darko is the best, most meaningful movie ever. Both sides are wrong. So, yeah, screw you all.

It's, like, my Link of the Day or something.

Emo girls have blogs where they complain about how the world doesn't understand them, and also take far too many pictures with their webcam starring themselves looking generically depressed, possibly showing off some rad new piercing. Please invent a new word for "cute chick with red hair and glasses who has awesome NES belt" if you feel so inclined.

The puppy, Jake. Look at it.

Except eventually this strategy will bite back and cause them to lose money. "Comfort zone" is an illusion.

Things that aren't cool to hate anymore: 1) Penny Arcade 2) Edge 3) Nintendo Hating PA is so last year. This comic was really lame though...

We'll try at E3. No guarantees.

Fact of the day: the interviewer in that clip also writes the Behind the Games features for GameSpot. So he rules.

One of my favorites. I also really like the box art of Another World, Outlaws, and others I can't remember right now

I'll probably buy it all, once I've bought everything from the DF store.

Chris, I take it you've seen their EXTREME tshirt with EXTREME skateboarders skydiving from a (dinky looking) POLICE HELICOPTER?!? It's the perfect tshirt for you.

It's number ten! (also contains discussion of Bad Day LA, and the city of LA)

I was joking LOL !!!!!! -
Picking up torpedoes and spitting them at people sounds like a game I want to play! Though it also sounds like it has zero to do with the Jaws license. I didn't know that. Well, OK. On Oddworld, I think Majesco is sort of their default partner for game things now, though more along the lines "how can be use/exploit the Oddworld universe in a variety of products" instead of "we'll publish your next game".

On the real subject of this thread, I remember seeing concept art for Bad Day L.A. like a year ago, and I'm completely amazed how close the style they're using is to the style of the concept art. It really is a very close match. Also the game seems cool. -
Apparently the 3D thing would not require glasses, but I'm as confused as anyone.

Majesco is awesome. Though they're doing more than just publishing creative games that others rejected. It's picking up some really good licensed IP too. Like Jaws. It's played from the perspective of the shark and the company that made Ecco the Dolphin are making it. That's a really good match between existing IP and a proven developer. They've also got the rights to Teen Titans, Aeon Flux, The Darkness, and a billion other things I haven't been able to keep track of. That's the sort of IP that probably doesn't spring to Ubisoft or EA's mind but still has sales potential. They make bucks with BloodRayne, licensed stuff and budget range WalMart crap no one cares about and also finance creative and original games with new IP. That's a really broad range of things, and makes for a healthy balance for a company. Too bad about their NASDAQ ticker symbol though. And their new logo. ¬

Killer 7 looks shit when you actually see it in motion. It looks more like a shitty Fade To Black-era action game instead of a super stylish minimalistic orgasmatron to be honest. Okami is wonderful though.

No way it's even more badass. It's like chewing ice with a stylus.
