To answer that question when we did the UK podcasts we were unemployed and had loads of time, but then that changed around. Also in my opinion we struggled to find a good format, and maybe needed a third regular. I also personally can't appear on any kind of podcast anymore as it would cause all kinds of PR and confidentiality problems with my current job.

Been watching this. It is good. Also from HBO and worth watching is the animated series The Life and Times of Tim. It's sort of like Curb Your Enthusiasm but more absurd and a lot easier to watch.

Nachimir practicing his synchronised swimming moves there...

Nowak, it'd be great to see more of the pics you took. Are you planning to put them on flickr or something?

Was great to meet you guys and to put faces to all the forum names! Sorry I didn't get to speak much to some of you. I wish there had been more time to chat. James: it's so random you met Ben and Sarah! I'll have to bring that up with them on Monday. All of the newspapers were free to distribute amongst yourselves. (I still have my own copy at home.) I could have handed them out more deliberately to anyone who was interested but that would just have been way too organised. P.S. On the tube home I had a conversation with a drunk stewardess. Games Discussed: Crash Bandicoot, Gran Turismo 4.

I keep imagining the pet rushing to town, unloading various weapons from its... fur? And then negotiating a good price with a merchant. But yeah it's pretty great.

Sweet. This is happening. I'll be there wearing a jacket with a pocket containing copies of the Journal of Games. I might be yelling wuxtry but no guarantees.

Please solve this mystery for me: did I or did I not ever meet you at an Indie Meet organised by Beatnik? I'm so confused on that point. But in any case, maybe I'll meet you Friday!
-
So where is this meet happening and where can I meet you guys? I will also probably be at Nachimir's event.
-
I might be there!

Okay, I've got to join in here and say thanks for the podcast. Thanks! It was really entertaining and uplifting to hear you guys talk about video games on a weekly basis, especially during my 8 months of commuting & game industry hell (during which the podcast helped keep me sane and helped me stay passionate about games). A couple of times you guys also made me laugh until I cried soooo... tears achieved.

This hasn't been posted yet so I guess I'll just pimp my website: "LucasArts planning Secret of Monkey Island re-release" http://www.adventuregamers.com/newsitem.php?id=1893 Bringing some of the old LucasArts adventures to modern platforms is a great idea (and long overdue). Hope they'll also go for the more obvious DS/Wii ports.

That carro a carro was fucking hilarious. Rubbing bumpers that hard did become vaguely homoerotic after a while though. I'm just sayin. Oh and based on how often you guys killed me Shenmue 3 is hereby cancelled. Let that be a lesson. -

Okay, so I was lying. Working on Idle Thumbs was an amazing and transformative experience. I got to meet and even befriend some incredible people, got to work with incredible people in a team, was able to improve my writing and communication ability well before I even had my first job, and perhaps most importantly it gave me a chance to make stupid mistakes or be wrong or poorly calibrated and learn from it and adjust. Idle Thumbs (coupled with Adventure Gamers) soon got me my first job, and then my gradual entry into the games industry. Nowadays Idle Thumbs is mostly responsible for making me look like an insane person in public. Kroms: that rules. It's amazing to read that.

Should that be tuesday oct 6?

Grand Thumb Auto XXXII: It's that time of year again (Poosday)
Marek replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Multiplayer Networking
That was great fun! Thanks Thunderpeel (I think) for inviting me to the game. I'll try to make it next time too. I had a bit of trouble matching different voices with different nicknames and I was generally a bit disoriented but I'm glad I got to crush some people with a bus and stuff. Covert ops skills = me going to the toilet. So yeah I'm pretty good at that covert ops shit. -
Remember a looong time ago we were taking the piss out of super expositionary audio logs conveniently left around by NPCs in games and we were writing our own? I can't find it anymore. Does anyone remember the thread title?
