  1. Seen any good movies lately?

I actually hadn't seen the last 10 minutes yet, and I'm glad I now did. I still don't like the movie at all, but I no longer think it's horrible, just really mediocre.
  2. DS multiplayer gaming

I've never had a GBA, let alone a link cable, let alone friends with GBAs with link cables, so this is all new to me on the DS, but ... wow, playing multiplayer games on it is really a lot more social and fun than your average PC LAN. I love it! I mean, with DSes in hand you tend to sit more in a circle, rather than everyone facing a monitor in opposite directions. And with wi-fi you can really make yourself comfortable and still keep playing. What are the best DS games at the moment to play against each other? I tried Puyo Pop Fever and Zoo Keeper but found the multiplayer aspect to be minimal at best. The same goes for Meteos, but that game is so awesome I don't mind it's not that ideal for multiplayer. Meteos is pretty much all we play now. Will I have to wait for Mario Kart, Metroid Prime, etc. for some proper multiplayer action, or is there something available already (be it local or import) that I don't know of? Any silly multiplayer minigames hidden in single player games that are good?
  3. Morning surprise

I came into the office this morning and as I opened the door my boss stood in the middle of the office floor, totally freaking out. He was like "WHAT THE F--- WHAT THE FUUUUUCK HAPPENED TO YOU??? I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like that!" Someone behind him was laughing. Then he pointed me to one of our programmers, whose arms were totally covered in huge tattoos, from his shoulders all the way down to his arms. Dragons, hearts, roses, the works. This was remarkable given that this guy didn't have any tattoos before. Except it was basically just drawn onto a panty pantyhose, which was sown to the shirt he was wearing, but this was really really hard to see and it also took me 10 seconds to figure out. I hope that thing isn't a standard joke store / hip clothing store item or it won't actually be as hilarious. Otherwise it's probably the best prank ever.
  4. Somebody justify Beyond Good & Evil to me

    See? You've made Yufster angry.
  5. Somebody justify Beyond Good & Evil to me

Eh, the story in BG&E is pretty unremarkable. It's the sort of story you might find in the average cartoon on TV or something. It works alright, but you can see everything coming miles away. No, the magic of BG&E lies in the way this world has been brought to screen, the way the characters were designed and written, and the wonderful feeling of exploration you get from it all. It was nice re-reading our review of it. Jacques Cousteau is hilarious.
  6. Here. Hmmm. That's fairly expensive-looking for a Terry Gilliam film.
  7. Morning surprise

We had a Douwe Egberts machine for a month or two, but then I guess everyone got depressed by how much its coffee seemed like liquified shit. The new one we've got looks sorta like that picture, except there's a seperate bean grinder and two of those handles that you can put the coffee in. We do not have a Cup a Soup machine, though there's some bags in the cupboard that no one ever uses.
  8. Airplane

They usually fly at an altitude of around 10000 meters. So 32000 feet sounds about right.
  9. 2HB for Sale

Haha. That has the potential to be the best extremo pic to date. (Though I guess no one ever saw that picture from E3 2004 with Chris holding his arms ominously in the air while a dozen booth babes drop to the floor.)
  10. Morning surprise

    What on Earth is Gaggia?
  11. Current status of your thumbs

My right thumb is resting on the side of the mouse. My left thumb is against my chin. This makes me look intelligent. Everything changed when I started typing this message, though.
  12. "Jet Set" Tony Hawk DS

Tony Hawk is coming to the DS, and it's cellshaded! DS continues to interest me in games that I don't care about on other platforms. It's nice that some developers have learned how to make 3D look good on the DS (see also: Ganbare Goemon DS) and not shitty like, say, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory DS, which looks like it escaped through time from 1993.
  13. Morning surprise

Something much more remarkable just happened. The new coffee machine arrived! The vibe is like it's Christmas. Everyone stopped working, fought to tear open the boxes, etc. It's just been installed and we made our very first cup. It's being passed around in a circle. It's good.
  14. Morning surprise

Yep those. Except skin-colored. And with tattoos painted on to them.
  15. Morning surprise

You know, a transparent flesh-colored very thin long sock? I have no better way of describing it. And when I googled for "panties" I got too many images that aren't work safe.
  16. Holy Crap!!!

I apparently never log out anywhere.
  17. Holy Crap!!!

Who am I? I am me. Who are you? WHAT?? How can I be sure this is me? I could be you and you could be me. I must now travel back in time and repair whatever damage has been done.
  18. Holy Crap!!!

Bah. I can be Marek from my PC too, you know -DougMarek
  19. Fahrenheit Demo Out

Where did you read this? As far as I know it's still fixed camers (or cameras on a rail or axis) with the occasional "steadycam" follow-the-action camera in outdoors locations (for instance when Zoë walks around Casablanca).
  20. This is a random picture from a game called "Pirates of the 21st Century".
  21. Congrats to Chris!

"Cooking with Spaff Chris" has a nice ring to it though.
  22. Congrats to Chris!

Now that it's official, we've totally reported on ourselves in Idle News. It helps us with the emotional process I guess.
  23. Seen any good movies lately?

I saw the first 20 minutes of Casshern and then switched it off. For some reason I totally could not stand that movie.
  24. Name this movie

A bunch of years ago (1998 I think) I was introduced to a whole bunch of cool movies at a school camp. I discovered later that Lola Rennt, Pi and Leon were amongst them. But I just recalled another film I saw there for 20 min but that I never re-discovered... maybe you guys know the title. It was French There was a scene where a car drove through a tunnel and a guy's face was pressed against the road causing part of his face to peel off. There was a scene where a nightclub that got raided by cops armed with machine guns. Everyone got shot. The DJ was last to go down because he had headphones on and didn't notice what was going on around him. I don't know if it was good or not. I'm just curious what film it might have been.
