  1. Dreamfall gone gold

I'm thinking the game will sell just fine. It's one of the few adventure games I have a lot of confidence in sales-wise (at least in EU).
  2. Will Wright's Editorial in Wired!

Waitaminute, I didn't realize the whole issue was guest edited by Wright! Wired should be on my doormat when I get home and I can't wait to read it.
  3. brkl, you must clearly kill nsps's friend and take his place
  4. Revolution at GDC thread

The controller is exactly the length of a normal ballpoint pen. The attachment for the nunchuck thing adds another 2 to 3 cm. Maybe that gives some idea.
  5. I SPOKE TO FUCKING RON D. MOORE AT GDC (and also his wonderful wife). He's a super cool guy! Season 3 spoilers (one super minor, one medium spoiler regarding the Cylons):
  6. Revolution at GDC thread

I have seen the Revolution case. It's so pretty. It's so small. Much smaller than the pictures lead you to think. I'm in love.
  7. Gdc 2006

LIVE GDC CONFERENCE UPDATE: Ron Gilbert just walked by. No mushroom swish as far as I could tell?
  8. Gdc 2006

Yes there will be some of that.
  9. Sid Meier

Yeah Civ 4 is great. Best in series. Fuck the haters! (Haters include me 1 year ago. )
  10. Gdc 2006

A couple of us will be there (Jake, Steve, Doug, myself). No promises on coverage though.
  11. The big names in gaming

I don't think that's true. Valve doesn't just have Source, but Steam too. He's the guy with the most influence right now, regardless of press attention. Tim Sweeney is a close second. The UT engine is being used for a lot of games. Few people know it but even Splinter Cell runs on it. John Carmack is hugely overrated at the moment. How many games use the Doom 3 engine? Not many. How special is the Doom 3 engine? Not very.
  12. Sid Meier

I'm hoping that with FireFly Studios working on CivCity: Rome and PopTop getting merged into Firaxis, those studios will be able to take over some of the sequel work allowing Sid & co to work on something new. I agree that Firaxis is long overdue for something new.
  13. Gibbage + Indie game programming

Thank you for plugging that properly and not in a spammish or viralish way. Will check it out.
  14. Wow your posts are dripping in insincere attempts at humility. Too much dude, too much.
  15. Last week at a games developer

Fuck off Yufster. We want Nick.
  16. You can watch it in iTunes but you'll get a pretty crappy resolution. There's a DVD box with the miniseries and the first season for not that much money.
  17. Watch the show from the beginning. DO IT.
  18. Cars

Heh yes you can make that case for Finding Nemo.
  19. By the way here's a preview that's been released of the season 2 OST: http://rapidshare.de/files/15293358/bsg-s2-ost-preview.rar.html Hearing "Galactica Attacks" is great. Half that scene's ownage was thanks to the music.
  20. Cars

Talking fish and talking toys are also anthropomorphisms.
  21. Last week at a games developer

    http://daffadowndilly.googlepages.com/blog works a lot better

Actually, Dan, I'm pleased to report that it's not like that at all. Pixar has really come out on top in this deal and it's awesome. Basically, Pixar people are trying to fix Disney right now. The new hierarchy is: Robert Iger (Disney CEO) -> John Lasseter (director of Toy Story, A Bug's Life and Cars, now creative uberboss) -> individual project directors. There's no more layers of management. The creative people report directly to Lasseter, who only reports to Iger. Lasseter has to personally approve each new project (Pixar and elsewhere) and one of his rules is that whatever studio started a franchise gets to make sequels, and only if they really want to do them in the first place. It's a bit of a miracle this happened. http://www.jimhillmedia.com/article.php?id=1829 http://pbcbstudios.blogspot.com/2006/01/first-impression.html http://pbcbstudios.blogspot.com/2006/01/slow-clap.html http://www.sewardstreet.com/2006/02/it_just_keeps_g.html I'm sure Doug could tell you a lot more.
