Well one of the new guys here replied to me with "thnx for the add" so they're basically coming at this with a myspace mentality. I guess if you use myspace all the time, coming in cold with a friend request on a forum is more normal.

I'd like to know that as well, for the same reason.

Wow how bizarre. Sounds to me like he wasn't denying the holocaust, but questioned certain facts about it that everyone assume are true. Nutjob or not, that's a valid thing to discuss. In my opinion Germany and Austria often go too far in clamping down on any hint of holocaust denial or neonazism or even crime or violence in general. The countries are so paranoid about history one day repeating itself and are so obsessed with pacifism that it may in fact have an opposite effect. Just look at the way Germany responds to violent crimes alledgedly caused by games. Germany already has some of the most strict rules on in-game violence in the world, and some politicians are now moving towards an outright ban on violent games, and yet it hasn't stopped school shooting or other horrible things that also sadly happen to occasionally occur in other countries. What pisses me off most about that news post is the jewish lobbyist though. 99% of the world believes the holocaust happened, so why don't you fuck off. The Israeli government and jewish lobbyists might in fact be the new assholes in the world, abusing people's goodwill and/or fear of being labeled antisemitist. Anyway........

I was going to mention Metroid Prime in the first post, but the two times that I tried getting into it, I just... didn't. Somehow I never made it past the tutorial. I'm sorry. I'll try again when Metroid Prime 3 comes out. I played and loved the SNES version of the game, but that's my only experience with the series.

I want to play some more Gears in singleplayer before I go online with it. Maybe in a month or so. I have to finish Zelda first.
-
But I can't because I'm at my parents house and they are playing Wii Sports with two of their friends. They've been for 1,5 hours now and I can't get them to stop. I... I think I have something in my eye.

Haha yeah the bowling alley thing is really true. When you play bowling, you're probably with a group, sitting on couches, probably near a table, probably having drinks, probably using an area besides the table for "rolling the ball", so the setting becomes almost identical to the real thing.

Nintendo banked £30m last week, Wii fastest selling console ever

You spend money on advertisement at launch because you have an opportunity to create a snowball effect of awareness that you wouldn't have half a year later. Right now my Wii is brand new, so I tell people about it, and those people will also hear about it from advertisements. When someone hears about a product from multiple sources at the same time, it will stick in their minds, and they'll remember what a Wii is next year when more stock is available. -
No, that's not very interesting to note. You really think they should switch off their automated affiliate links? They are ads, not editorial content. They're standardized throughout the site and handled by a seperate team.

Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4, Paper Mario ... see you in Q2.

Buy a Wii for Zelda when you can find one. -
Lynch, Spielberg, Gilliam, Tarantino, Kubrick, Lucas ... there might be one more but I forgot. Oh and Spaff has made the best version of Jack Black EVER.

You made a typo. P.S. I have like 40 male mii's and about 3 female ones. Please help me fix this gender imbalance! P.P.S. I got a dozen amazing movie director mii's from a GAF poster so if you're lucky they'll start showing up in your parade soon

OK, don't laugh at me for noobness. A year ago I didn't even know what RCA cables or S-video were, so that's kind of my level of knowledge. I never bothered with this shit. Here's my situation: I'm about to make my first official foray into console gaming. I used to play console games on my friends' consoles but now I'm getting a Wii at launch and a 360 early next year. I have an old TV. The back looks like this. It has two SCART ports and two things I don't fucking know. Another piece of information I have on this TV is that it doesn't accept s-video signals, cause I tried that with my laptop's TV-out and it just gives black & white video. So it needs some type of lower tech input, I guess. I have this SCART to who-knows-what (composite?) magic cord lying around: I also have this SCART to s-video (and something else) converter in my big box of electronics crap: Questions: Can I connect a Wii to this TV using these materials? Can I connect a 360 to this TV using these materials? If the answer to 1 or 2 was no, what do I need instead? I plan to buy a Siemens Samsung digital TV in approx. half a year. Should I just not bother with this old TV and buy a Siemens right now? Any help appreciated. Thank you.

It depends completely on what the artist did. The starting area has some amazing forest areas with bushes and grass and wonderful detail, and coming back to that gives a great feeling. But sometimes there's very thinly populated areas where your attention is drawn to giant smudgy ground textures. It's good though. It doesn't have to be HD.

OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE. I NEVER GET THEM RIGHT. You don't name one thing zapzillidapdop and name another one zipzallidopdap and expect people to remember which is which. Anyway, I'm using the VGA input for my laptop. I connect it very often to watch divx videos. So I will have to get a switch, although some kind of SCART -> component thing would be ideal so that I could switch sources simply with the TV remote.
-
Okay, so another noob question from me. My 360 is connected using composite cables. My Wii with component. I will eventually get composite cables for the Wii because it has the most need for a good signal. But I still want to keep my 360 connection optimal. I only have one composite input on my TV. Are there SCART to composite converters? Or what else should I do?

WiiConnect24 only does background downloading when it's pushed from the server, not when it's pulled from the client. And yes, Nintendo should fix that immediately. The demos on XBLA are genius. They almost feels like shareware instead of regular demos, because you can try out a few levels and then instantly upgrade to the full version if you like it. Hopefully someday we can do this for AAA games.

Having a tennis simulator video game such as Wii Tennis in your living room would be more like having a private tennis court in your backyard that requires no additional equipment, training or maintenance, can be played any time of day under any weather circumstances, and also magically takes control of the tennis players on it so that they're almost always in a position where they can hit the ball.

The plot of the episode didn't interest me that much, but some of the character moments were great. Boomer/Athena and Baltar/everyone in particular.

Having played only a few Zeldas... I have no idea.

Whoops I didn't know that was an Evil Dead game.

Sony continues to simply rock, PS3 delayed again in Europe?

What? I thought the Chimera were aliens. Or, a race of mutants origins unknown, which is almost the same I guess? Maybe I didn't read enough spoilers.
