  1. Red Dead Redemption

Hahah oh man. On a more serious note
  2. Scott Pilgrim [video game]

    Damn! Who is developing this?
  3. Shogun 2: Total War

Ah yes you may be right. Although I personally find Napoleon's campaign to be very focused whereas in Empire you might have your forces divided across the globe - grander scale but potentially more overwhelming as well (unless you play as Sweden or something).
  4. Shogun 2: Total War

Napoleon also has a really good tutorial that follows the life of Napoleon as be moves around Europe. You get a bit of history and context while learning the basics of the game. It's one of my favorite tutorials in a long time. BTW Shogun 2 will be amazing (and I'm not just saying that because I work at SEGA )
  5. Neptune's Bountiful Pride 2

I lost my internet connection at home for 3 days and when I finally was able to log back in I lost a lot of planets and the AI spent all my money on stupid things. So I think I'm out now.
  6. Red Thumb Redemption

    360 - gwarek
  7. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

I'm Gwarlek. Would be great to have an overview of everyone's forum / game names.....
  8. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

Man you Puffin Galaxy people are roleplaying that shit to the max. My inbox is hilarious.
  9. GDC 2010 for thumbs?

    hahaha geez
  10. Idle Thumbs London meet?

Does anyone know a boring pub that no one goes to? I find that when picking a pub to meet up in central London can easily lead to disappointment as they're often crammed with people.
  11. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

    Wooooo yeah!
  12. Idle Thumbs London meet?

How about next weekend (15 or 16th)? Someone maybe suggest a time/place? If a thing happens in an emergent way or open source style or whatever, I might appear there also.
  13. Idle Thumbs London meet?

    STRONG.
  14. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

Man, my current game (with random strangers) is drawing to a close. When is this second thumb game happening? I am psyched for it.
  15. Best Boy Scouts badge, ever.

OK that's ... yeah, you pretty much take the crown there.
  16. Best Boy Scouts badge, ever.

When I was a cub scout I got a programming merit badge. All I had to do was make a 2D sprite of an airplane (that I hadn't drawn myself) move around a screen randomly (with no option to actually control it).
  17. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

I'm still in for a thumbs game. Question: while a faction is under AI administration, can it actually attack anyone?
  18. NeoGaf: Any of you post there?

It can take up to half a year to get approved and it can be pretty random.
  19. syntheticgerbil: so, basically, they do make games. Lots. Internally. Does it really matter whether the studios were once acquired or built by EA from the ground up? It seems like kind of a random criterion. Many of the studios listed have been part of EA for years, sometimes over a decade, so you can expect them to be fully integrated into the EA structure with product development processes and decisions occurring from within the company. Saying they don't make games just isn't accurate. However, obviously it's correct to say that games published under EA Partners weren't made by EA (I personally think some of the best games they've published have come from that label.)
  20. ??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Arts#Studios_and_subsidiaries Wait, maybe you were trying to be wrong on the internet? If so that'd be pretty meta.
  21. Steve even more famous then Famous?

Steve is regularly quoted in game development lectures - often from his Immersion Model of Meaning posts. Chris also gets mentioned from time to time. At GDC the Mass Effect 2 guys quoted twice from his Gamasutra editorial about the game. I'm always happy when I see one of their quotes show up.
  22. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

What I was getting at was the tone of your posts rather than whether you meant what you wrote. I know that you are serious about your opinion, I'm just saying if you expressed it more like you just did in that last post (offering some reasoning) it's way nicer and more interesting to read than "pah this is boring" or "wow this game is really intense" (sarcasm). Whatever, I probably shouldn't have said anything, because now this becomes a thing. I totally agree with how you just characterized the game and it will only have appeal to some people (it may not be to my taste either btw, I'm curious to see if it can maintain my interest).
  23. Neptune's Bountiful Pride

OK I signed up for this thing. Just doing a free game to try it out. It's cool that it's not your thing but could you try to sound less sarcastic / super hard to please though? I'm just saying a more positive tone would make your posts a lot nicer to read.
